2 new top Marantz Dacs and other Marantz novelties. - Page 4

I'll jump on board and also say the Marantz digital players are great, including when compared to some more expenisve brands, one of which has been raved in all the high end magazines.  I never had any experience with Marantz and was not predisposed toward it.  But after trying a few I am a believer.

I've been looking out for the SA-11S3 CD player, and just recently Crutchfield.com changed the product's status from "shipping soon" to in stock. At the moment, there is only one review online that I can find.

A $4000 CD player is pretty high, and this would be my first $2000+ electronics purchase if I got it. How does it compare to other 'high-end' players in this price range? I'm looking at you, Mcintosh MCD 301 ($4500).

In CD players the law of diminishing returns rears its head early in the price game.

I have found this to be true with Marantz cd players, comparing a multi-thousand dollar unit to a $400 unit.  This is not a knock on Marantz at all, I loved the $400 unit before comparisons and loved it more after comparing to the Oppo and more expensive Marantz.    I'm amazed the realistically priced Marantz units are so great sounding.  Totally satisfied!
