Diablo III Character Poll
May 26, 2012 at 9:31 AM Post #31 of 76
I just got into Act II yesterday with my Wizard. The Butcher was giving me real problems at level 16, so I went back and leveled up to 18, plus paid a visit to the AH for a better wand, and at level 18, 119 DPS and about 900HP, he went down easily. Act II is definitely tougher, I'm glad I leveled up. (I hit 19 when I killed the Butcher, and am now at level 20.)

The AH is OP at the moment in my opinion. There are plenty items on there which are even cheaper than the cost it takes to make them when crafting. That and you can pick exactly what you want. Crafting seems a bit underpowered right now compared to that since the chance of getting an item which I don't really want is too high.

Agreed, My current bow is this amazing bow I picked up for 5k. It had a socket so I went and looked at a few other auctions for a ruby and bought an item with a square ruby in it for like 5k. Just crafting it from the radiants (I believe radiant is right below square?) costs around 5k I believe, not to mention the jewelcrafting stuff you need and the level of jewelcrafting required which costs money to reach.

My DH is just under yours now but it's hard to go through Normal mode again. It's just no fun because it's absurdly easy.

I like playing Monk more than DH but DH is definitely the more practical choice. I can tell Hell will be much better with a DH.

I think just about any class soloing a difficulty above nightmare will be hard. I'm currently soloing the rest of Act 4 on nightmare and some enemies are just a huge pain. Though, DH has a skill to stun so on single enemies, it's a lot easier. Most of the bosses can barely move. Use 2 1handed crossbows that both add attack speed and some rings and other pieces that add attack speed. Get to like 3.5-4.5 attacks per second and he's constantly stunned. Unfortunately that doesn't work on larger groups. You could do cluster shot + the stun rune but that uses a lot of hatred. You could also add preperation + punishment rune + the passive to reduce discipline consumption so you can get a good 3-4 full hatred bars in a row without having to wait and that can stun large groups. Though, you can easily get swarmed from 2 directions which makes this tactic useless. Act 3 was incredibly difficult for me because I play with a Witch Doctor friend and he focuses more on HP and his tank zombie which has like 30k+hp, allowing me to just pump out my damage with equips that don't focus on vitality, but trying to solo those phasebeasts that teleport around and swarm you from 2+ directions was almost impossible with my tactics and equips.

Just wait until you get to hell (57 Demon Hunter on act 2), the difficulty ramps up real fast and you'll need to scour the auction house for gear. Also, vitality gear becomes just as important as dex, since DH can only take a few hits, lol. On another note, has anyone else been enjoying the auction house as much as I have, despite the glitches and bugs that have been present since launch?

I've been enjoying the auction house a lot.
I'm currently level 47 and my damage is at 4k (the damage stat). I played the auction house well, looking for amazing gear and cheap items with good gems on them, then reselling it for more after I've had my use of it.

If anyone wants to play, my battletag is "GL1TCH3D#1864"
Level 47 DH on Nightmare difficulty act 4. I'll probably finish nightmare by tonight.
Currently saving up to get an amazing end-game bow.

I'll go ahead and add you and play with you on my Monk when you get to Act 1 on Hell. I'm almost to Act II on my DH Nightmare so I might catch up as that's what I'll be doing all day today.

Aha, gotcha.
I'm not even halfway through act 1 in hell.
The elites and champions destroy me >.> Even with 3 other level 50s. Once I hit level 53 I get my new bow which adds like 1k damage more or my dual bows which probably don't add any damage but both have +15% attack speed to hit easily 3-4shots/sec making it very easy to stun bosses.

It's the vampiric plagued savage beasts that get you in the end if you not careful. :)

i've been neglecting head-fi since the release of this game. lvl60 demon hunter inferno act3,
it was fun while it lasted, i'm not gonna play much since 2 of my friends got hacked and 1 of them was hacked twice over a period of 4days. both had authenticators and those do not work as intended. their recent list is filled with hackers' names.
blizzard is no help at all, we have been lvl60 for more week and  they offer to restore account back to the state when they were lvl58.
i will occasionally go on, if anyone needs help just shoot me a pm.

Glitch3d and I both have Demon Hunters right around the same level (52) and we had some fun playing tonight. My Monk hit 53, but that's just a Nightmare on Hell...DH is much more practical.

That sucks. I guess the last backup of the account was made when it was level 58 =/

Yup, fun fun.

I got hacked once. I changed my password and stopped clicking spam e-mails. Never been hacked again.

Chances are it probably wasn't the emails... Unless you clicked a link within the email.
I go on another forum called hackforums (abbreviated HF, just like Head-Fi xP) so I get to see a lot of different ways people try and gain access into a computer and they can be very discreet. One of them is as easy as running a java application on a website which installs a "server" (virus) onto your computer. Another is downloading a program that has a "server" binded to it so when you run the program, the "server" (the virus) runs too. The server allows the "hacker" (not really considered hacking) to do just about anything to your computer including:
keylogging (making copies of all the keystrokes you perform which is then sent to the hacker which can be used to identify passwords)
stealing autoforms from browsers. Some browsers like firefox save passwords and such for future use but this can be stolen.
using the webcam
deleting / installing other programs
changing the registry
closing/opening programs
These are just to name a few

So I highly doubt it came from an email which uses html.

If anyone wants more information on keeping protected, let me know.
