I just recieved my RME 96/8 and I am loving it with foobar2k + asio. One thing I've noticed though, the output on the card seems to be quite low, I have to turn up my gilmore v2 se almost to the max to get a decent volume level. Is there possibly a setting somewhere that I missed or is that just how the card is?

thanks

Hmm, no ideas here but I agree with Iron_Dreamer that this card is not at all quiet when working properly. In fact it's quite a bit louder than my standard 2V DVD player, which is in turn much louder than my TB santa cruz card. I use my Gilmore V2 dial at about 8:30 with -6db with HD600s, sounds about the same as Iron_Dreamer's volume level and it's loud enough (actually I'm a recovering volumeholic). I would stop using it until you figure this out. You don't want the problem to suddenly correct itself when you're listening with the V2 at max volume - the instant hearing damage that results will not be fun.

I found the problem it ended up being faulty cables that I was using. The RME ends up being quite a bit louder than my old sound card. Now its time to get back to listening to music

Excellent, and good detective work! Glad you got that fixed without finding out just how loud the Gilmore + RME can go. Enjoy!
