I do not find the W4 being sibilant. Maybe thats just because I don't have long listening sessions. Max 1 hour.

I currently have the W4 and am considering upgrading to the PFE 232 and have also been looking at the new 132 for $239.  It would be about $120 to exchange them.  I'd love to get some thoughts but I really have to make a decision today.  One thing I'm really interested in is the controls on the cable.  I didn't think it would be a big deal but it is.

The 4's: I love the cables, they are very comfortable and I feel like they do all genres really well. I could use a little more bass or presence, perhaps but otherwise I've been fairly happy.  I sometimes get the feeling that something is missing. I also have a pair of UM3X and they are way more sensitive than the 4's with my iPhone 4s and the size of the jack sucks.  They are more exciting and I completely get the instrument seperation people have talked about.  I think they could be a little fatiguing for long sessions or at least I see how they could be.

Thank you in advance!

The PFE232 should have more clarity than the W4, but other than that, I don't really think it's good enough to be considered an "upgrade", more of a "side-grade".

Can someone confirm and elaborate on their sibilance?

I had this issue, but for me it was because the design didn't allow the tip to go far enough in my ear with the "normal" fit.  It was almost unlistenable.  however, if i force them in deeper, beyond the normal position the sibilance goes away completely and they sound amazing.  i think it might have to do with people's ear shape and reflections in the ear, but i can say when you get the best fit for your ear there is no sibilance.

I'm truly enjoying the sound quality of the PFE232 that I just bought 3 weeks ago from Amazon. Amazing sound.
