AudioEngine A2 + FiiO E9 - Quick question!

Hi,

 

I'm trying to work out how to connect my A2's to my E9. I have an RCA to 3.5mm male cable, which I've tried both ways around:

 

- RCA input on A2 > E9 Pre_Output

 

and 

 

- RCA line out on E9 > Input B on A2

 

Neither of these work. Am I right in thinking that I have to connect RCA on A2 > RCA on E9?

 

In which case I'd need a different cable, RCA to 3.5mm male > 3.5mm female to RCA? So it would be like this:

 

A2 > RCA to 3.5mm male > 3.5mm female to RCA > E9?

Nevermind.

 

RCA line out on E9 > Input B on A2 worked, I just had to unplug the headphones, I thought it could output to both at once, guess not :)
