Since when in life does anything 'guarantee' competence or honesty - especiallly online?

Having a 'member of the trade' under your name on headfi can assure a new member on the forums that these people are actually reputable dealers with a business and headfi are endorsing them.

We have found out from this thread that a 'member of the trade' can actually be a guy in his parents garage hacking a headphone, making a complete mess of it, then flogging it for $300 to other members of the community.

Couldn't disagree with you more on this, there needs to be much stricter vetting from the administration team on who is portrayed as a trade member. There are so many rules on what a trade member can or can't say on the forums, so why not at least do a little background before giving him or her the title in the first place. If someone hasn't earned a 'member of the trade' title then they should NOT be allowed to mass sell anything to the other members.

Anyway this is digressing from the people who are owed money or product, so lets keep it on track and for the people who are trying to resolve a problem with Justin.

I believe that when reflecting back on our issues a year ago with BilaVideo, the moderators have indicated that the "Last On" information for a member is actually not accurate.  I'm not sure if anything has changed in the past year in this regard, but that was the last communication I had heard about the feature and accuracy.

Quite true.  Then again, A "Member of the Trade" really shouldn't be selling their items on this site either.  They usually are contributors here and there, but do not post items for sale.  However, the site would rather post a tag for someone's business - and, to their Web site if they provided advertising dollars to keep this site running.  I certainly don't think this was true in Justin's case - as, he didn't contribute towards advertising revenue - yet, did use the site to sell his goods.

Again, very true ... and logical, just like your other posts.  I tried hard to refrain from making any reponses, yet felt it was warranted based on a few previous comments.

Thanks,

Not to discourage you all, but there is very little chance of you getting your money back directly from Justin because he simply doesn't have it.

Justin bought my Vsonic GR06 a few weeks back, and a little more than a week later he PM'ed me expressing interest in my GR07. He offered me a very low price.

Oh well I don't have that, all I got is a $105 in my account.  If you could let them go for that it would be fantastic, if not I really can't afford it right now.

Sorry but that is too much especially for a damaged GR07.  I saw one for 120 that was like new.

All in all, he doesn't have the liquid assets to refund you all. I recommend moving forward with the police investigation to get this matter resolved quickly and legally.

As for dsmith, if you are really Justin's mother, I feel for you. My own mother went through a similar heartbreak with me during my rebel days.

You need to grab your son by the cuff of the neck and shake some sense into him. Drastic actions are the only way to get to him.

I got my tf10 from justin. Just as he described. I'd like it mention his communication before he got banned was top notch.

I'm a happy camper.

That's very good...and I hope we are all able to post something similar in the coming days/weeks.

I, on the other hand, have still had no responses to either emails or pm's in the past week (from Justin's email or the 'dsmith' headfi user)....let alone delivery of any finished satisfactory product. My own experience with Justin was that communication has been poor over the past 3 months of waiting, and it still appears to be continuing, for me at least.

I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised, and will post that here if that happens, I certainly want us all to be past this.

Well, I am still waiting. Justin and Mrs. Smith: I AM PATIENT, see! Should I wait till September?

This Justin's mom.  Sorry for not answering my husband is really mad about all this and wants Justin to fix. He does not want me to post but I think you should know why I am not answering. I talked to Justin he said he needs to get on this post for his orders. Not sure how to work all this out . He will not be able to be on a computer unless some one is with him. so if there is a way you can print out your items you paid for and items you sent.  I will mail to him. Sorry, my niece does not want involved in this and you already have my address if dealing with Justin. He is said he would make everything alright when he gets money, also will fix the ones he needs too.

Mrs Smith,

Sorry that your husband was mad. I hope that it's not us being pushy.

I am also so happy to hear that Justin--our trusted friend--will make everything alright. I hope he gets money soon so that he can get what he owes us started!

And who's your niece, by the way? Justin owes him/her money too? Don't worry. Justin will pay back, I am sure.

Thank you! Have a good evening!

Rick

Oh yeah, Justin is top-notch as a seller just as Basketball is as a buyer. Highly recommended! My two favorite head-fiers!

So glad that Justin is going to get everything alright when get gets the money. And for that to happen, could you please tell Justin not to buy things non-stop anymore? As you can see, he's already looking to buy more things:

Plus his O2 never works anyway so he's just wasting more money (unless, of course, he gets someone to buy those nonfunctioning O2 off his hands).

I apologize if I am moving to the dark side without reason, but I am now getting increasingly cynical about this process. This feels like more delays...why use snail mail for this? I have already emailed details to Justin's email, and pm'd all details to this dsmith account, including all ebay item #'s and paypal transaction #'s...for my information of what goods/money I am owed,  dsmith, or indeed Justin himself under observation, could print one of those out. I am not intending to print out another hard copy of the same and send snail mail...just for dsmith send on to him...thats another week of inaction already, just more delays and still no payments, goods or even acknowledgments of any communications I have sent privately.

Remember this is Justin's ordeal, not Mrs. Smith's.  If it really is her, she is trying to help so give her a chance.
