Equestria Girls was better than I expected, but I expected it to be meh and it was pretty good. Not great, but I didn't feel like I wasted my time. There were some great moments, like the cafeteria song, and there were a lot of groan-worthy moments, like just about every other song.

I'm more excited for Rainbow Rocks. I won't see it in the theaters, but I'll watch a good cam or something before it's out on DVD.

I saw Equestria Girls for the first time a few months ago and I enjoyed it. It was pretty good and definitely not nearly as bad some people have claimed. I'm definitely going to see Rainbow Rocks as soon as possible.

I personally didn't like EG. I'm a bit OCD on logic gaps, and there were just too many gaps in logic; to the point where I couldn't appreciate the things they did correctly. I don't expect Rainbow Rocks to be much better, but I kind of have to watch it. It'll be good for the fandom though, I really want the fan fictions, music, and just the fandom in general to come back into the light. I've really missed the fun.

Have you been to a convention? I've been to two, and if you ignore the godawful panel questions, they bring the fun back in a big way. I was kinda falling out the fandom until I went to TrotCon this summer, after which I fell back in love completely with the community. Keep in mind I'm a social recluse, too. It's worth considering if you have the means.

Speaking of, TrotCon 2015 was just announced ;)

You have no idea how much I want to go to a con. I have a friend named Kristen, and she was going to go to bronycon, but her parents didn't want her to go alone, and came at a godawful time. I truly believe we will be able to go next year, and I believe her parents will deem me trustworthy.
These are the advantages of being a straight A student. EVERYONE trusts you. On that note, I was allowed to leave the school, run to my house, and get a shirt that wasn't necessarily mandatory for me to wear. Illegal? Eyup. Was it bad? Nope.

Heh. My friend asked me to go to a furry convention next year. I'll probably go to MLP-MSP too. (my friend is 100% furry lol. I'm not very much into the furry fandom(yet), but wth! May as well go.)
