Just finished two separate mareathons, Season 1 yesterday and Season 2 today. While I like all but a few episodes, these are the ones that especially stood out to me this time:

  • The pilot episodes: I never realized how fantastic the cinematography is here. Pans, zooms, depth of field, all of it was a cut above most other season 1 episodes, on par with a lot of season 2
  • Stare Master: Some of the best CMC antics, and some adorable Fluttershy
  • A Bird in the Hoof: If these mareathons have done anything, they've reaffirmed Fluttershy as best pony
  • Hearth's Warming Eve: While I still don't like the beginning or ending of the episode, the play is very solid, really touching the way it concludes. I don't like Merriwether Williams as a character writer, but as an adventure writer she's great
  • It's About Time: Pinkie Pie is hilarious. That's all

 

In other news, Bronycon is next weekend and it'll be worth livestreaming considering the amount of talent in attendance. I'll post up a link when it arrives.

 

For those man enough to buy toys, the rumored collector set made with us in mind is coming in August. With exclusive Nightmare Moon, Trixie, and even DJ Pon3 toys, along with Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and two background ponies, it's a must-have for those in dire need of exciting hair brushing action.

Oh no, she's been my favorite for months, and one of my favorites forever. The episode that really got me to admit my bronyhood was Dragonshy.

 

Also according to various polls and surveys, she's on the whole the second most liked pony after Twilight Sparkle.

Fluttershy is probably my overall favorite, but it really depends sometimes; for me Pinkie Pie can be hugely entertaining, Twilight has the best freakouts and Rarity has the best voice.

 

Honestly, for me it's probably (Any other mane 6, all about equal) > Rainbow Dash, and even then only very slightly now that Read it and Weep and Hurricane Fluttershy redeemed RD in my eyes.

Rainbow Dash is my second favorite if only because she somehow manages to be incredibly adorable despite being a jock. She's got the best faces.

Her design's great, and I also have a soft spot for pegasi of all sorts.

I thought Twilight was the least liked, and Rainbowdash came first with Pinkie Pie following.

Twilight Sparkle is still my #1 of the mane 6... I've been slowly rewatching... trying to last until the end of the pony drought. I'm up to episode 23.

 

And BroNYCon? Well... I for one won't be streaming.... Because I'll be in attendance. Should be fun.

Ugh, I can't pick a best pony anymore. They all have their moments. It used to be Rainbow Dash for me, but can't say indefinitely that she's my favorite now. And then I can identify with Twilight's "logicalness", Rarity's appreciation for upper class things, and Fluttershy's passiveness and shyness, so I don't know who's my favorite anymore confused.gif. Even Spike could be my favorite because I can identify with the fact that he's somewhat excluded from the mane 6's inside things, yet he goes along with them.

I've only watched like 6 eps but I like Twilight best.

 

Also, I read somewhere there's a Japanese fansub of MLP where Rainbow Dash is a Bokuko.  That's just awesome.

The promised Livestream of Bronycon, which begins tomorrow. There are two rooms, each with a different panel schedule. You can switch from one room to the next with the Swap Video thing to the right.

 

And here's the final schedule so you know what to watch. The panels you do not want to miss are:

  • Saturday 12:00 p.m. EST: Behind the Voice
  • Saturday 4:00 p.m.: An Hour with Lauren Faust
  • Sunday 1:00 p.m.: Behind the Voice 2
  • Sunday 3:00 p.m.: An Hour with John de Lancie

 

all in the mane hall.
