I Basso HDP R 10 is IBasso DX 100 Japan Version impressions thread - Page 84

What firmware version do you have? My touchscreen works perfect but comparing it to the iPhone it's not even close, it always takes 0,5 to 1 second to react, no matter what I do and that is kind of frustrating especially when scrolling..

8.0.2.   Its touchscreen is very good. I would say it has about 90% of iPod touch's quality. It's slightly slower but I'd say this is three times better than Cowon X7 or Archos 5.

I am almost sure s0ny got a defective unit or something otherwise it is not possible to have that many problems.

Friends, I have a question. Do you guys think we can use full size SD cards with an adapter and cover the external parts in the silicone case so it won't look any different than normal as if we use micro sd card?

Yeah, I'm not having as much trouble with it as s0ny.  Only problem I have with it is when you change the track yourself in a middle of play or when you initiate play for non-play, it has an annoying delay.  If you don't change the track yourself and let it play, it goes to the next one right away, and also when you change the position of the track, it happens right away. Possibly system memory usage is not done well.

One more thing I don't like, scanning of songs.  With uSD inserted, it takes forever.  I just use the internal memory to avoid that.

Does the 9.03 improve the delay when user changes to a different song in middle of play or non-play?

Yes I did that with a 128 GB card and it worked without problems. You can also put a tape to keep the SD card attached to the back.

So in theory putting 256 gb sd shouldn't be a problem? It might work slow though I guess.

I bought it from ebay. The seller is a Japanese shop that has a lot of them for sale. If I'll get it to boot again, I'll flash it back to 8.0.2 to make the sound work.

Just send it back. I also got mine from a Japanese shop and it works perfect. There's no single issue over here.

It sounds better than any DAP I've ever had so far.. I'm totally impressed. I'd encourage you to just send it back and get a new one. Your unit is defective.

Are you using a cheap 128GB micro SD card that sells for 30 bucks on ebay? don't use that one! that one will make the player buggy as hell. I've tried that too but gave up in the end. The card works but its file transfer speed is too slow that the player ended up not loading any of songs in the card. Buy a legitimate Sanddisk 128GB card for 100 bucks or use a SD card with an adapter.

Check if your card is SDXC. SDHC card will make your player buggy. iBasso's product does not support SDHC cards at all. Player will freeze and not load any songs.

I have a 32GB SDHC from Kingston. I bought it from a well-established normal computer shop in my country. I took out the SDHC since the player stopped outputting sound and stopped booting. It didn't help. I contacted the seller and requested to let me send it back.

The sound quality of this device is jaw-dropping. But I can only use this several hours a day before I'm spending twice the amount of time to get it working again. I'll wait for a DAP to be released that is reliable, has a good user-interface, not an outrageous rip-off price and ESS9018 sound quality. Until then, I'll be patient.

That's probably why. SDHC is not supported. I have tried two different micro SDHC cards and none of them worked. They made my player freeze every time so I took them out and now my player works well.

Buy an SDXC card.

I didn't have the SDHC card until a couple of days ago. Before I had the SDHC card, I had all these problems. The SDHC card worked. When I took it out, I still had the problems.

Yeah... it's a defective unit. I also bought this on Ebay. It works nearly as good as my iPhone.

Hopefully, they send you a working one for free.
