man is that bad, why don't u try to erase all your songs, and try adding only few albums and see what happens, maybe its the sdcard, or something. I had high hopes for the hdp but not anymore after reading your experience

I see... was it working well before you tried to upgrade the firmware?

There is a firmware 9.0.2 for R10. It's available on Hibbino's website. People said it's better than 8.0.3 and it fixes some bugs and makes touch screen more sensitive. Why not try that one?

I'm sure you're having firmware error..

i really am sorry for ur bad experience, and really if a player can't play music then its not a player.

i think after a lot of thinking that i might buy chord hugo as its a dac/amp combo and i can use with with my aneroid phones or with an iPhone, or any other player and the sound I want. Buying a dap that is around 750 USD and then run into all these frustration will definitely be a heartache.

I hope I am making a wise decision in buying the chord hugo instead, also when I read that people who bought the a k240 still need an amp like chord hugo this is so bad in my book for a player that costs 2400 to still need an amp, so this is why I am making my decision to just buy the chord hugo and use in multiple ways, as it seems all player DAPs in the end need an amp
I'll keep using my iPhone. If I press play, it plays as it should be. How good is a sports car if the engine jams in the middle of the desert? Just plug your IEM in your phone and enjoy your music. Even if I sell the R10 for a dime, I'll do it because I don't want that swamp thing in my house. I bought a lot of bad products in my life, but this is by far the biggest scam ever. I have to work a lot for $650.

It doesn't boot anymore. Only into recovery mode. It was bricked before I tried the upgrade. Recovery mode allowed me to boot, but now it's stuck again and recovery mode doesn't fix it anymore. I have to try again tomorrow and install 9.0.2 if it allows me to do so.

Buying this thing is not to listen to music, but to spend hours every day to try a million ways to fix it.

Man, 9.0.2 is known to be way more stable than 8 version.

Try that upgrade and let me know. 9 version takes out all unnecessary function from R10 and fixes some bugs.

And try to use a legitimate Sandisk 128gb SDXC micro SD card.

Does it make the file play instantaneously if you select from folder browser?

Thank you for your email.
We are testing the new firmware beta ver. now.
And many users in Japan are helping us to improve it.

Since it is a beta ver. as you know, we cannot take the resbonsibility if there is any damage on your HDP-R10 or your music data.
And the firmware are not allowed to be opened to the poblic without our permit.

If you are interesting in it and approved the words above, you can download it by the following URL.

V8.0.3 without Google Play
http://yukai.lolipop.jp/V803.zip

V9.0.3 with Google Play
http://yukai.lolipop.jp/V903.zip

If there is any bug you find out, please tell us.
Thank you for your coorperation.

Sincerely,
Hibino iBasso Audio staff

AL, lookin at your pic, you seem to be have a wide wallet.  Try the NT-6 and get back to me. ;) You will be like wow, what have I been missing. I gives me an hard-on every time I listen to this setup.  Vocals are so vivid and detailed, amazes me every time I listen.  Amazingly realistic sound.

Don't know why some people got into some problems which flags HDP R10 entirely bad - could be a defective version? Mine was a little frustrating at first not knowing it would take some time to fully load the library, it was kind of slow at first. Over time, i am getting used to it plus upgrading to 8.0.3, tried to remove, disable some unnecessary stuffs. This thing is running smoothly now and officially replaced my Iphone 4 when it's around. Have been using for 5 months now

BTW Someone said 9.0.2 is even better than 8.0.3? can anyone confirm it? i really want to improve this little buggy device

The person who posted that said the 9.03 had no google play. They were confused. 8.03 removed everything like 8.01 did . I think that us what was wrong with the dx100. It just has way too much stuff and not enough CPU to run them. As it is stripped it takes a while to scan the library every time you turn it on. We know cause when you hit play and nothing happens it's doing it. Other do not and keep hitting play and causes a crash. It's a fine unit with really good sound for the time and at 2500 the sound is not much better with the ak240. But after the sound the ak240 is just stunning. Anyway the HDP r10 is a really good player for the price it now sells.

I honestly think s0ny has a defective unit. Try sending it back to get it fixed ? From what I recall, price Japan do assist in such situation. But I believe you need to pay for it.

That being said, my r10 I purchased from yodobasi camera has been working flawlessly. Granted that's its slow to react when booting up.

I totally agree. or he had used a flawed firmware. As far as I know, R10 isn't that buggy...
