I Basso HDP R 10 is IBasso DX 100 Japan Version impressions thread - Page 81

what does this mean for ibasso dx100 to provide DX100 API to the developer of GMMP, will that mean better UI and functionality than hdp r10

Also, do you think there will be a new UI for R10 through this open source upgrade as well?

Thanks

I put the update.img in /sdcard
It detected the update, but not a valid firmware in the file.

Now I have a new issue. It doesn't output sound anymore. I'm seriously considering to sell this inferior product, no matter how good the sound is. What's the use of having the best sound if it doesn't even work?

I do not remember where it goes but I am sure it's not on the Sd card.
It will be ifine then.

When I rebooted, it said that it detected a firmware upgrade. It tried to open it, showing the screenshot that I posted. Since this afternoon, the player doesn't output sound anymore. As soon as I get the sound to work, I'll delete the internal storage and MicroSD. Then, I'll sell it. Nothing on Earth can convince me to keep this piece of sh1t. It is an inferior product and simply does not do what it is made for: to play music. If it has some quirks, I could cope with them, but I cannot for my life get it to play music. If it plays, it will freeze in several hours and force me to spend hours to get this junk to work again. It's not worth my time. I will continue to use my iPhone 5S.

I spent the entire f'king evening to play one song. Just ONE song. It didn't happen. This device isn't worth even $1. Avoid at all costs.

I'll leave it idle for a day. Hopefully, it will then output sound. Not to listen to music, but to enable me to sell it. There hasn't been a product that outraged me so much since Windows 95. This product is just not worth it. It's main problem is, if you want to play music, you can't. It's like a lottery. Once a day, you have a slight chance that it will work, as if you're renting the device for an hour a day. While I'm typing this, the screen won't go off. It stays on in frozen mode.

Even if I can't get the sound to work, I'll sell it. Even if it's for $10 or I'll throw it away. It is the most pathetic thing I've ever spent my money on.

thanks god i did not buy one maybe u should have bought dx100

i really am sorry for ur bad experience, and really if a player can't play music then its not a player.

i think after a lot of thinking that i might buy chord hugo as its a dac/amp combo and i can use with with my aneroid phones or with an iPhone, or any other player and the sound I want. Buying a dap that is around 750 USD and then run into all these frustration will definitely be a heartache.

I hope I am making a wise decision in buying the chord hugo instead, also when I read that people who bought the a k240 still need an amp like chord hugo this is so bad in my book for a player that costs 2400 to still need an amp, so this is why I am making my decision to just buy the chord hugo and use in multiple ways, as it seems all player DAPs in the end need an amp

I won't buy any of these obscure players anymore. I'll stick to my iPhone 5S. Sure, it doesn't have reference sound quality, but at least it works. The iBasso HDP-R10 is like having the hottest girlfriend that only gives you intimacy 2 seconds per month while forcing you to do everything for her 24/7.

I just bought an R10 too. I will not upgrade its firmware... do you think it will be more safe to not upgrade the firmware and just leave it as is?

Inhave the unit almost three years and it works fine it has some issues . As his may be bad it's more likely an error in some thing . It could be his muisc is flawed .,if I went to play something that had an error in it . It jammed the player. . Now at this point I do feel sorry for him really .

Upgrade the software . This is crazy no one will read the thread . If the player was that bad the thread would be filled with complaints. Look a the iBasso dx100. They seem really happy right. That's why I bought the hdpr10. . Upgrade the thing to 8.03. It got even better with it .

There is no higher firmware than the 8.0.2 that's already installed. I tried to upgrade to 8.0.3 beta, but the device says it's not a valid firmware and automatically aborted the installation. That beta version is only hosted on a non-official site so it's not sure if it's fake. I'll sell my R10 asap.
