The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread - Page 48

Just want to offer my take on the difference between the MH and TG 334. Perhaps it's common knowledge to everyone here but for the record the MH/TG334 consists of 3 transducer units, of which there's a dual (i.e. 2 drivers in 1 casing) that takes care of upper-bass/midrange frequencies. That and the tweeter driver utilize the same network for both the MH and TG. However the sub woofer of the MH334 is way more dampened than that of the TG334 (can't say how much, sorry). That might explain spkr01's impression even if he didn't have perfect fit with the MH pair.

I also found Sasaki's review a bit strange that the TG is clearer than the MH at first. Yet it would make perfect sense if one looks at the titanium tube that's attached to the tweeter in the TG. I don't have the data with me now but that layer of titanium coating should have better absorption/reflection rate than normal PVC or silicone does, plus a larger diameter tube also plays an important role here. In short I would expect better highs from the TG compared to the MH regardless of its bass bump.

Wow, was just going to post about it when it appeared on my facebook feed.

Beat you all...posted on the new dedicated thread before you could say "Private C435".

Someone with proper translation skills might want to correct me though..."laid-back, wide stage, and airy" seems to be all I managed to get out of the blurb.

The C435s are pretty much first in the running for now, but the MH334s (spkrs01 hears the TG334s more to how I hear them so his comments on those definitely piqued my interest as I think we might have similar tastes) and the Pro Audio series (especially the 335 non-DW) makes one wonder...

Hopefully you'll follow through this time... unlike those C4s rolleyes.gif

If I'm springing for such a substantial investment with these (as I'll likely replace the ER4P/LCD-2 monitoring setup afterwards) I'll need them to be as raw and as iridescent as possible. Personally I find solace during meets and auditions when I have something so ridiculously reference to tear all the gear into shreds (which is why I always try and grab the HD800s when the situation calls for one), and I'm beginning to think that the portability factor would be a major plus in this area.

Especially factoring in the price (keep in mind I would have to go through Jaben, not to mention I would have to pay outrageous international fees due to my location, etc) there needs to be some aspect of practicality/line of reasoning that I can exploit other than morbid curiosity. I simply would not have the means to justify them otherwise.

Not to mention my threshold for dryness is rather high, and I would be more inclined towards that sort of signature anyways even if it was some sort of $8 wunderphone rather than a $1600+ CIEM.

Does Jaben cater towards US customers? Or is it only reserved for Asia?

I'll prob just go to Japan directly and purchase them though.

How much will these likely to cost? As I'm looking to order some earphones this week. Was looking at the Yamaha EPH-100 which can be had for £100.

I'll just re-quote someone else's post.

Since the website mentions they are マルチドライバー(multi-driver) and come with FitEar cable 001, I guess the retail price will be higher than F111.

Oh gawd don't even get me started on those....

Further inquiries with owners just stamped that idea deep into the ground.

I recall a few pages back some headfi'ers ordered and sent their impressions to jaben HK. Maybe you'd wanna explore that option?

And I took one for the team...sort of. When I get them back, I'll go write a review hopefully. :3 along with those esoteric Flats.

I wonder if I could go to Japan for one week school spring break and hope that they can crank mine out before I leave...

Hmm... I'm afraid they might mess things up over here. So I guess I'll just go there personally. After all, I've never been to Japan.

You could get your impressions done by them at the same time too!

Great design. I've always regarded the horn design of the F111 to be a better technical achievement than the 334 from an acoustic engineering standpoint, while the 334 was more of a triumph of manufacturing.

Hopefully you can get Suyama san to get it done for you. Dont think fitear do rush orders on a regular basis.

Agreed. Didn't know the MH334 was more dampened, but that makes sense.
