spkrs01, I'd be very keen to hear your thoughts of your MH335DW with the Tera Player, esp with respect to the bass.

+1. Anakchan are you interested in the Tera and worried about bass roll off with ba's ? It is strong on the Miracles, but apparently not on the SE5. If it works on the 335, I am getting these babies.

Quite the opposite. I kinda conceptually agree with nickif that I find them at times a little too bassy for me (although I'm not certain if I'd say they bleed into the mids) and was looking at cable options to tame the bass somewhat. So far only SPCs are around but no one makes pure silver with the FitEar connectors...wait...with one exception: Whiplash Audio recently announced their cable compatibility with FitEar but their TWAG3 8-strand core costs $600.

As such I'm also looking at a mid-impedance headphone out DAP to see if it can tame the bass a little. I've already tested this somewhat with my VentureCraft Go-DAP X LME49860 with a headphone out of 10 ohm which works reasonably well. The Tera has 10 ohm and 20 ohm headphone out sockets so was just curious on the synergy between the two.

i.e. hoping for a bass roll-off.

Edit: OTOH, for some of the vocal jazz tracks OTOH, they do seem to benefit from the deep warm bass - so for those occasions a < 1 ohm headphone out impedance DAP is nice.

Well what you are looking for works for the 334, so it should partly apply to the 335. The bass is much less bloated on the Tera with the 334. But of course, you get much less subbass, which sometimes makes them sound a bit thinner.

Extremely comfortable to wear. The latch to take them off is so convenient!!! A very sophisticated sound signature, for me definitely more focus than the 334.........

Extremely happy with purchase and so are my daughters, seeing their names on the earpieces.

Congrats, both of you!

A friend is shipping them to me because I can't pick them up in person. He took the photos.

Nope, no personalized text on my set. : )

Either way you will have to wait for (at least) several months according to our discussions here.

Alternatively, this silver cable is relatively affordable:

Getting silver cables is not a problem. In fact I already have "free" (or should I say UM Global Promo) PlusSound silver cables. The connectors that FitEar uses OTOH is somewhat "proprietary" because the cable is actually encased -in- the connector. Of course I could just snip off a current FitEar 001 cable and just solder the PlusSound silver cable to the 001 cable but that's not going to be the same really. Even BTG's connector for the FitEar isn't fully compatible to all FitEar IEMs. It's fine for the TO GO! series but not for the FitEar CIEMs - some minor mod work required.

However, looking at Whiplash's new FitEar cable offering, that connector they use look mighty similar to the Sennheiser connectors. If that truly works, then one could just buy the Sennheiser connectors and use it with whatever cable they want.

P.S. I've already asked BTG if I could ship them my cable and for them to re-terminate to the FitEar connectors. Sadly they can't do it.

Sennheiser connectors are compatible, but the polarity needs to be reversed. FitEar doesn't use the same hookup schema as Zennheizer.

Perhaps you can ask ALO about getting them to overmold for you? I think you'll be met with the same reply as BTG, though. It's still worth a try, as ALO's overmold is on the same quality as FitEar's own, while BTG's is not quite as nice IMHO, as it's a blowup and reshaping of the CIEM mold. It's just that ALO's own SXC cable, frankly, is the sux0rs when it comes to ergonomics.

Thanks for the confirmation about the Senn's. Something like this would be great then, where I can choose to wiring :-

It'll probably be easier for me to ask FitEar as they're only a few km away from me. Having said that I don't know if they outsource their cabling to someone else (which would then be a little problem).

I have been listening to my pair on and off all day. The fit and comfort is incredible. I have to congratulate FitEar's way of doing things especially regarding their requirements for the ear impressions.

A few observations:-

The fit is actually like a hybrid between a Universal and a pair of Customs for me. The seal is created by the first few mm of the stem and the lock of the body shell as you twist them in. For me the isolation is incredible, better by a fair margin than the Heir 8A for example.

The stem is relatively short as can be seen below compared to the 8A.

Once in, for me, they still need a little twiddling to dial them in completely......you will certainly hear it when you have achieve the optimal position. Everything clicks into place sonically. I am not sure if it is because of the short stem that allows more breathing space for the bass but I am hearing the best bass reproduction that I have heard from a BA driver IEMnormal_smile%20.gif

I must say I am enjoying this pair of customs exceedingly!
