Exactly my thoughts.

Although just because you buy earphones to try and find your signature doesn't mean it will be costly.
As long as you buy on the used market and play the resale game, you can pretty much demo alot of headphones for "free". The only exception would be shipping, which should be fine if you buy from closer head fiers.

That is how I found my way and stopping at FitEar

Indeed! Which is why I have all my Fitears clear. smily_headphones1.gif

Shamefully for me, shopping is equally fun as listening to music. LoL

Means to an end, my friend. smily_headphones1.gif Remember? journey...

Have you actually listened to any thus far. Or you will never a reference point. Most of these things are relative. Hence, you need such reference points to make comparisons. Head-fi is not a spectator sport. smily_headphones1.gif

In regards to what you said about waiting for BA drivers to develop and mature. Do you already know that different implementation of same model drivers results in different sound signatures? What exactly do you expect or what is suppose to happen that will make you finally decide BA drivers are "fully developed'?

Please find out exactly what kind of sound quality and signature you actually prefer that would compliment what you listen to instead of looking out for what you perceive as being the possible "best". Sorry to burst your self-imposed bubble but there is no such thing. Find out what you like, look for iems known to possess those qualities then for god's sake, TRY when you get to Japan.

You just seem like a lost sheep not knowing what he even wants that finds excuses for everything. Sorry if I'm being harsh.

I understand where you're coming from, but as of now all I can do is merely speculate as the country I am situated in is useless for this purpose. I am not waiting until they are fully developed as that is not possible I understand as they are all different for different purposes, however since they are in their early stages, therefore although there is no 'best,' better does exist and obviously I will be waiting forever if I keep anticipating better alternatives however, what I'm saying is I won't be jumping on the bandwagon just yet before weighing out all the options. I would rather see what companies have to offer in the future, which may not even be from a sound perspective. For instance FitEar are revising their connectors in the near future, if say I had bought a FitEar product (IEM) prior to this then I would have some buyers remorse and in this instance it is a case of being better and not just different as apparently the new revision will strengthen the connectors to make them more durable, thus an improvement in this area, where as sound wise, may not hold the same aspect.

I do not believe I am lost, I am just asking about so that I can get a general synopsis of what is available.

I'd rather just enjoy what there is now and listen to my music with a smile on my face like I'm going right now. I'm going to have my 334 next week, not next moth or next year. That's a lot of tunes and that's what it's all about. I don't give a rats ass about what the next greatest is going to be!

I envy you for your state of mind, mine just doesn't function that way. -_-

All I'm seeing is " Forever waiting for the next better thing".

Have fun in Japan. Good luck with your search.

Essentially yes, it's just a matter now of deciding when to invest. If the time is 'right.'
