Pros and cons of this approach. The cumulative cost as you upgrade could add up, even if you sell them along the way.

I agree, but straight from 50 to 2k$ is a bit fast IMO. Plus the journey up is a fun one.

I agree with you. As they say it's the journey not the destination. But it's also true that the journey can be expensive as you upgrade.

+1

The Audio Journey is educational at the cost of $$ (unless one happens to buy highly sought after models that don't lose their value).

Jumping straight to the end may well be the cheaper route but usually (although not always) at the cost of learning & appreciating what you've bought.

Luckily for the folks in Japan where one could take the latter route yet experience the audio journey without having to spend much since there are so many demos at the shops, events/festivals & met gatherings. This opportunity seems to be spreading to the rest of east & south east Asia too.

Anak, tell me I can find a job in Japan with my Master degree in Molecular Biology. That's it, I am moving in to Japan  Then with my first salary I will order MH335DW

I agree. I complain to my headhunters why they don't seem to be bringing any opportunities which require me to report to Tokyo regularly... ;p

Are you located near a Jaben? Since actually purchasing the FitEar CIEMs might pose some difficulties. You have to physically be there to do the impressions.

You also probably want to listen to the demos before buying...

Buying blind into CIEMs is just too risky unless you've heard the company's sound signature before in their universal products (like the TG334).

When people say the 'companies' sound signature I don't understand. JH13's are known as neutral so I assume the sound signature is also neutral, yet people say it has a JH house sound.

😕

Agree. Today, I've met with Gavin and have the pleasure to audition TU-06, AK120-S, 1p2, uber 3.5mm to rca and uber cable using my C435

Learn a great deal from him, and thanks for the coffee!

Yes, its good to learn from experienced people in this hobby. Its a Chord Hugo. This portable box sounds really fantastic. I feel its new Reference level sound for portable audio. Please give it a listen when you have time.
I also audtioned ZX-1 for the third time. This time luckily Gavin's one has some highres classical music. Listening to it using uber cable for fitear and C435 making me want to buy the ZX-1, too...
I am in luck that my wallet is empty so nothing i can do right now, but i definitely NEED that impactful 1p2 sound in the future...LoL

Absolutely, my man! The sony too when it finally arrives here. I was also fortunate to have an empty wallet, after NYC, when I met Gavin and he was kind enough to let me listen to the uber cable. Let's just say that it has been haunting me since then... smily_headphones1.gif
