Hahaha! Not really. Because I do try to rotate the IEMs.  Cannot show favoritism.

Yesterday evening and this morning I've been putting the MH334 through its paces with the Toxic Cables SW. The Silver Widow is silver litz with about 1% gold. It is probably one of the most refined silver IEM cables around. The other top silver-based cable is of course the Tralucent silver/gold cable.

What the SW does, as compared to the BW, is it seems to be peeled a layer or two from the "veil" on the music. I have always maintained that the SW is like a microscope with which you are able to scrutinise music while the BW is like looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses. The SW is transparent and revealing. At the same time, it seems to add some sparkle to the music.

While the MH 334 is already very musical, the SW gives it more crispness and control in the music. This is very nice - no harshness that you can get with some silver cable. There is no excessive treble glare and the sound is very smooth.

Of course, I still do adore the BW, which i feel lifts copper cables to a different plane with its richness, musicality while being as transparent as it can get with copper cables.

What I wear with the MH 334 really will depend on the mood I am in any particular day or the genre and/or the quality of the recording. I am grateful I have a little cable library and am afforded that luxury of cable rotation.

On a very simplistic scale of 1-10 how would you rank your various cables, firstly irrespective of cost and secondly when cost is factored in? Do put the stock 001 cable in the list too. Thanks.

Wah! George, I have quite a library.... This will take some time to ponder. Not to mention I would hesitate because how the cable works really depends on synergy with the IEM and the source. And it also depends on what mood one is in: some cables which are fantastic in their own right may suck if you are not in the mood.

Having choices are not easy I guess. One way might be to say to yourself, for each particular Fitear IEM you have, if you were allowed to take only ONE cable with you to a desert island (Singapore lol), what would that cable be? Irrespective of cost and when cost is factored in. By the way, do the constant switching of cables not eventually lead to some loosening of the connectors?

With regard to loosening of the connectors, I haven't seen it as yet.

At this stage, my choices for being a cable on a desert island in terms of preference, I suspect it would be:

C435 - Tralucent silver/gold

333 - Toxic Cables Virus

MH334 - Toxic Cables Black Widow

TG334 - Crystal Piccolino

F111 - Fitear 000

The choice is basically premised upon synergy with the IEM and my personal preferences at this stage. Cost doesn't need to be factored in at this stage because the one cable which is way above all else is the Tralucent Uber cable, which I do not own. :L3000:

It looks like the Uber cable is next on your to-dos!

Good to see the same cable doesn't appear for every IEM.

Well, which cable I prefer with which IEM is really a matter of personal preference at this point in time and synergy between the cable and the IEM.

As for the uber cable, we'll see...

I couldn't tell the difference between 001 and ALO SXC24 cables, perhaps poor audio memory on my part.

The MH335DWs / 001 already sounds phenomenal, I don't know how it can be further improved with the SW. Mainly getting it for the ergonomics, but I'm hoping to be wowed. smily_headphones1.gif

The main difference between the 001 and ALO SXC24 is that the latter is much clearer and has a larger soundstage.

I have not tried the 335 with the SW, but what the SW will be bring to the table is clarity and smoothness. Prepared to be wowed... :L3000:

Would anyone recommend the Meridian Explorer for Fitear iems?

I'm curious how it matches, considering the rather high output impedance.

For those in Singapore, you may be interested to know that it emerged during my conversation with Claire today that Jaben has a few Fitear 000 cables available. This is the cable that normally take almost half a year for orders to be fulfilled. smily_headphones1.gif
