The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread - Page 128

I'm curious as to why we're all talking about customer service in general now? I don't think I said FitEar had bad customer service specifically.

Perhaps I was a lil vague in what I was trying to say?

Their reason for rejecting my interest in their customs is because they cannot directly service foreign customers easily (if something goes wrong post-creation etc).

Which is why they recommend going to the official distributor or your nearest country. Don't have one, well then there's no luck. Even if I fly over I won't be able to buy one from them.

If you guys weren't refering to that...well, please ignore this post as a genuine mistake.

I understand their business model. The only problem is that they should impose a decent markup to their distributor. The price of the MH335DW through Jaben in Mainland China is 16800 RMB which is 2800$ vs. 1600$ in Japan. That is just thievery.

...more than a plane ticket + hotel fees of a premium.

Disclaimer: The is entirely my 2 yen worth from being a FitEar customer, learning about the local business culture whilst living in Tokyo, and being exposed to the e-world views through forum. It does not officially represent FitEar's views but is merely my speculation of how believe they operate.

I think I've mentioned this before somewhere in this 128 pages (or if not in some other FitEar thread). I hope I'm not misunderstanding FitEar's policies but please bear in mind that FitEar is a Japanese company with distribution to very specific countries and as such have policies that support that. Management of production through their output per regular schedule, and more importantly quality of production Is important to them.

FitEar isn't an internet or online business reaching out to all corners of the world such as UM, JH, UE, Rhapsodio, etc. They don't actively advertise globally attempting to reach every potential customer. FitEar are exhibited & presented in regions where they have representation.

Its primarily through the community forum that the FitEar name has reached to the 4 corners of the earth but please bear in mind that in this case, FitEar themselves are not the proponent.

As for the product cost through distributors, that warrants a discussion with the distributors themselves. And to be honest, the reverse works almost the same with overseas products being sold here in Japan. Compare how much ALO, Cypherlabs, Resonessence Labs, Benchmark, or Chord Electronics products cost overseas vs in Japan.

I ordered mine thru Jaben but forgot to check the price in Japan...hm.... They do mark up a bit...

Suyama-san does go check out at least Jaben HK every now and there. I met him there when I was playing around with my SA5000 repairs, I do believe quailty control was such a major strong point for FitEar that going global will only hamper their reputation. Even their universals are made a lot more manually than anything else, that is such a statement on how they value their craftsman.

When they gonna release a new universal flagship? 335DWSR or something like that? I read about Parterre, I don't think the sound will suit me, so I am skipping it.

never heard of a universal flagship

the 335DW studio reference should be an upgrade option for current and future 335DW buyers, costs $40000YEN extra or something like that

According to Jaben, SR is only available in Japan since they are still trying it out. As they are really serious about the after sales service, they dont want to run into complication to offer to overseas distros yet.. It is pretty consistent that they put quality of product and service over anything else (including more profit)...

Hello guys. I still have some confusions about 335. Can I make my ear mold from Siemens by myself and mail them to my friend in Japan, then let her help me communicate with Fitear to make 335?

Nope you have to make the molds at the FitEar clinic or at one of the official retailers like Jaben. They won't accept those ear molds.

No you cannot do that. You have to go directly through FitEar or a reseller that works directly with FitEar.

Some info that i found on the Fitear Thailand facebook page regarding the Studeo Ref 335 upgrade

Help from Google translate (take what u can out of the translation)

MH335DW a new version or not?
MH335DW Studio Refence (SR) , not headphones CIEM new version of the SR FitEar it is an upgrade for existing headphones MH335DW Pipe Titanium Tube by adding to the sound of pipes MH335DW.

I started to make way FitEar SR also
While this has yet to begin FitEar upgrade SR exposure to customers both in and outside Japan.

Why is it so hard is not it?
The main reasons that make MH335DW SR is made difficult due to problems in the diagnosis MH335DW and structural characteristics of each ear, then do not. To send to Japan to analyze the cost is quite high. Because to send it, it is unlikely that it will be upgradeable via FitEar is not open to doing.

The cost of upgrading Studio Reference is approximately how much ?
The cost of the SR , it is located at around 14,000 - 20,000 baht by the exact price will be announced again when FitEar announced exact details then .

All right, thanks. But what if I directly go to Japan? I'm now in the US and have something to do in China for 1 month. When I go to China, I want to transit in Japan and make ear molds then place the order of 335 at the same time. When I go back to the States I can transit in Japan again and pick it up. Do you think it will work?

No that will not work. If look back at previous posts Anak Chan gives very clear reasons why they do not sell to anyone not living in Japan.
