The FitEar CIEM Impressions Thread - Page 127

Of course you wouldn't just fly there to make a CM, theres so much more to japan than just earphones/electronic goods

for me i also enjoy the journey instead of just thinking of getting the CM alone

not to mention the YEN is dropping these days, and my 90% off retail staff tickets

Yea, I got it confirmed from Suyama-san. Basically a no go. So it pretty much falls in line with what everyone's been saying.

Paraphrasing, he said that they do not sell CIEMs to overseas customers because they cannot provide "after service". Their customs must be able to be "supported" by them after their creation. Therefore, they have a policy of not selling directly to people like us. And again, mentioned the FitEar resellers...

Unless you fly over to Japan and have a permanent residence (or just stay for the entire CIEM process) and then go through Fujiya/E-earphone, you won't be able to get the FitEar CIEMs. They're definitely tightening their policy.

I'll prob save my money on the trip and perhaps try again for the successor to the 334. A bit disgruntled...but what can you do?

Hope this helps any potential FitEar CIEM buyers or perhaps confirms some truths.

Fwiw, aside from the bloated price, I'm quite satisfied with the service I got from Jaben Singapore. They took the time to explain stuff to me in a polite manner and didn't badger me into buying any particular model. Most importantly, I think their people did a great job with my impressions, since the finished product fits perfectly and sounds wonderful. Then again, this is my first ever CIEM so I don't have past experience to compare to. Whether other Jaben branches offer similar levels of service and quality, I cannot say.

actually theres not much of a service to speak about, the most important thing is to get the impressions done right thats all.

I dont think anyone mentioned abt anyone providing a bad service

I mean as long as u get what u want, its fine
Personally i fly to japan a few times a year and got a few local matea who i knew back college and grad school, so in my case i would rather go direct to japan to order if possible.

And talking about customer service, japan definitely offers top notch cs.

it has nothing to do with service.
acquiring it in japan or any other dealer should not be any different as long the impression process is the same.

I haven't purchased from japan so don't know if any better other than price but jaben Hong Kong were spot on. Had many many demos of different earphones but always returned to mh335dw. Impressions were simple and easy. Took about 3/4 weeks. Fit perfectly. Sound brilliant.

I guess they were just doing their job but in this day and age i would perceive as great service as so many businesses seem to lack anything significant even when taking my money!!!

just a personal preference, never mention that the end result is any different

i like to chat with the people at the stores, for me, it would be great if i can meet the business owner, have a chat about their products, ideas behind the products, etc. What else can be better than to visit the fitear office in tokyo and demo all the different models. For me, i really appreciate more than the product itself, but thats just me (thats why i've always used the term or similar terms as  'personally')

just a different way and point of view to buying a pair of earphones, u can treat them just like a normal commodity, but if it is your hobby, i am sure your passion does not stop there

Service could mean how the distributor giving advice according to what type of sound preference does the customer prefer & explaining the specifications (crossovers, number of drivers) the pair of earphones carries.

Geez, every time I talk to Fitear I get more and more upset.

Now, I just asked them If Fitear could take my impressions to speed up the process, as I am going to be in Japan. They simply said NO, and sent me a list of international distributors, ALL IN ASIA    . Here comes the fun part "If there is one close to you, please visit them and have your impressions done there" GREAT IM FROM BRAZIL, Ive told them that!

Is this a joke?

For me, Fitear is over. Im prefer spend my money on manufacturer that respects its customers or potentially customers.

They have great customer service only meant for people that live in Japan or are nearby a reseller. They do this on purpose because of the problems they have with foreigners and want to minimize any issues of refit or other problems with after care. I think it is a good business model.

If you do not like it, go to JH or somewhere else.

The product is top notch as is the customer service, as long as you live in Japan.

Good luck!

So, why the advertising and reviews done by NOT JAPANESE gurus on forums that are not Japanese nor Asian oriented ? Is this a good business model?

You do understand many of us can be frequent traveller to the Far East, or simply live there. Not just a US forum here.

Sure I do. Not US, nor European, Americas etc.
I won't dive into this thread anymore
