Nope, i spoke to Brian and apparently i have to file down the connectors in order to fit into ciems.
Do you have a pic of your Starlight connectors? I would like to see how it looks like on the ciem.

Oh thats too bad! I was one of the preorders so it had the proper connectors. Unfortunately I dont have them with me right now. I can only do it when I get back home in Feb

Oh you mean he had a different batch of connectors that didnt need modding?

What do you think of Whiplash and Toxic cables?
Which one is more flexible and does not change the sound sig too much?

Forza Audioworks will be coming out with a FitEar cable soon. Great prices and quality!

No he didn't have a different batch of connectors.  The connectors he has fit the FitEar universals perfectly but with CIEM's is hit or miss and may require filing down.  You can see pics of the connector in my review of his FitEar cable here: http://cymbacavum.com/2013/04/07/btg-audio-fitear-starlight-cable/

His connectors are just a tiny bit wider than the FitEar custom connectors.

I do caution, however, that demo pieces tend to have different sig because it has a silicon or some other tip whereas fitears have a special sound Partly because of the depth of the insert into your ear canal and the unit itself not being flush against the inside of your ear. I suspect some of the different sig one hears is from the resonance of the solid piece: fitear fills it's earpieces with acrylic and hence it is solid.

I hope that helps.

Hi Kiats,

Thank you for the brief impression.

I read your previous review and enjoy it very much :-)

The funny part, is that many of the people who greatly enjoy 435 actually demoed mr. Wilson's CIEM instead of the store demo.

My logic is, usually people don't get a good fit with a store /universal demo. But if the 435 model of mr. Wilson's could impress you guys so much, then 435 must be something really, really impressive.

Must keep an eye on 435, this creature is rather elusive and hard to demo :-)

Tupac's previous inputs about 435 vs NT-6 really a good pointer for me to look for.

Does your 435 need a long time for burn in?

Anything changes from initial use?

I read before that 435's sound changes according to the source and it is mighty revealing.

Ah... Historically, we only had Wilson's persona 435 to try. The store demo only came about a month or so back. Hence, you will find that most of us who own it actually used Wilson's demo. Yes, the store demo would not offer a good fit, and it's not really realistic because you don't have the earpiece flush against your ear - it does make an acoustic difference.

Hmm... I can't say I have really noticed any changes from the time I first received. The 435 is always astonishingly extended and clear. :) I would say that the sound changes, but rather than the 435 is so transparent that it reveals the the source and cable you use. You will hear everything - all the strengths, weakness, warts and all. ;p That's when you realise how good or bad the source or recording is... Eg. there is this person in the audience of Diana Krall's Live in Paris who has a persistent cough... you don't get to hear it in any most other combos. But here, you know it's there... Mixed blessing. :)

Yes, it is a special CIEM. As revealing and ruthless as my HD 800.

Thank you Kiats,

Really appreciate your explanation!

Now it all makes sense :-)

Would be nice to know the difference between TG334 vs MH334 vs MH335DW :-)

Do a little research and read this thread there is a lot of information on the differences between these three.

I'm in the midst of planning a trip to Japan for FitEar. I was wondering if any foreigners have tried ordering directly from Japan and perhaps could share some experience?

The worst thing I won't be looking forward for is leaving Japan empty handed.

*I'll be staying for a week. I don't know if it's "legal" (condoned by FitEar) to ask a friend to act as a proxy for the completed CIEM. Also, is it possible to do without a Japanese speaker helping with translations?

A week's probably too short, unless you manage to persuade Suyama-san to have it rushed, which is quite unlikely if you don't have anyone knowing Japanese tagging along. Believe me, don't rely on English when you arrive in Japan, I have worked with quite a lot of Japanese and most of the time conversing in their own mother tongue solves problems much faster.
