The effect of having 2 ports instead of 3 is inaudible, at least that's what an occluded ear simulator says.

My MH334 is somewhat different to a 3 bore or a 2 bore. It had an extended stem with 3 bore most of the way and only a huge single "bore" output.

Bummer no go for the upgrade if you so choose.

Same here. 3 bore connecting to 1 huge single bore on my C435. Was told it was due to the size of my ear canals, and sound quality remains the same.

I'm debating whether should I get mh335dw then wait for upgrade to studio ref or just get mh334. I'm not a bass head. I do love wide soundstage. I have tg334 and really love it however there are days that it won't fit no matter which tip I tried.

Any suggestion from any current owner of either of these fitear.

I would wait. I got my mh334 because there wasn't any less bassy 335dw. But now that they are making one, I would at least wait and see before going with either of them.

Not sure if this is true or not but it is my understanding that the upgrade will not be done on new customs but existing only. That is what I took away from the FitEar site.

if you make it now, it becomes an existing custom when its finished

Yes this is rather confusing. As I also get email from Mr. Suyama on the issue stated that this studio reference is only upgrade for existing 335dw owners.

Here is a copy of the email

Dear Dan,

Thank you for your inquiry.
We are sorry, that we didnot reply to you sooner.

can You make it MH335DWSR right away without needing to have the old one first?
>No, We cannot. 335DW Studio referenceis specified as an option of 335DW existing. It does not allow you to give this option a new 335DW.
At the same, because this service has not yet started, you will not be able to receive the order.

We are so sorry.

You have to get your 335DW done first. Then ask for the upgrade which they will assess if your set can fit.

Have you tried the Ortofon tips? Most 334 users swear by them.
