Hisoundaudio ROCOO BA - Superior Hi-Fi player for Ciem's & Iem's - Page 36

The 1Plus2 generally excels in most areas and I don't think it does a bad job with female vocals. The Sui for me can be a tad hot in this area due to how energetic the IEM is. With female vocals with lots of energy or a poorly mastered track things can be problematic. But this is more so based on how the track was mastered in my experience. The 1Plus2 will be the better all-arounder. But I enjoy both and will keep both :).

Although if you are mainly concerned with vocals have you considered the Fit Ear 334s? That may be what you are after if that is what you mainly have in mind. Just note the bass decay is noticeably slower than the 8as and in that I found it to be a problem (too slow) and felt congested with bass.

i like the fitear 334 actually. if its wasnt for the slow decay bass and the hiss with studio v i would be seriously consider them.

right now i had my eyes on the kaede,1plus2,mh335dw and the SE5. the se5 is the favourites right now but i havent find a way to get them because they dont ship worldwide.

btw as always thank you lee for the informative comparison and sound of the 1plus2 bigsmile_face.gif

How about the instrument separation and detailing levels? iPod Touch still better?

Apple has done it??

Well basically Jung he prefer the 5G. Personally I don't agree with him as I didn't even find the 5G on par with my Sflo2 at the time. I feel the BA is slightly better sounding than the Sflo2. Both sound good in their own respects though. The 5G is a more laid back sound signature. Not exactly like the Hifiman 601 but more along those lines IMO.

I'm pretty sure Lee's has been mistaken for 5G iPod - Classic etc etc.... Still I find it hard to believe Berkovajazz's opinion. Sadly, an 5G touch is not something I'm going to bother trying to find out. wink.gif

Ah I was thinking he was talking about the older classic (I think you own the one I'm talking about H20 AKA Ipod Video?). Supposedly it was one of the best sounding ipods if not the best (more laid back sound signature with an expansive sound stage). Then again I have the iphone4 which by some is considered the best sounding apple product to date. Still not better than the BA IMO :).

Yes, i mean iTouch5g. I was amazed about his SQ. Fast, clean, detailed, natural. Similar to cd-players.
SFlo2 is another level. It has "-"(little bright, not a deep bass) and "+" against lot of daps like HSA and much superior from all their line.
Now i can put iTouch5G on a one level with HSA daps, they are similar. New Cirrus dap is something very good. Sigmatel+primitive amp=HSA, no magic, Cirrus sounds more interesting. Ok, as i said i'm a badboy in this topic, but suggesting just to try it.

Well I'm on the other totem pole. SFlo2 isn't as good as it has been made out to be. A good DAP but not as good as the Studio V. Not by a long shot ;).

The 5G/5.5G iPod Video is still getting rave reviews seven years after release.....a recent example of such - http://www.head-fi.org/t/633511/pictures-of-your-portable-rig-part-xvi/4965#post_9550005

Seven years from now, will anyone even remember your Colorfly and Hisound players? wink_face.gif

If iPod Video were that good to my ears, don't you think I would of kept it for the money I paid? Wouldn't I just be simply adoring this wonderful SQ everyone raves about? wink.gif Such as your provided link? It's a mainstream brand, not only that of all brands Apple, so of course it's gong to remain popular with a much higher attention rate to sales, the numbers and figures for widespread acceptance are much higher out weighing the small guys, so that's a little unfair. Hisound and Colofly only catch a tiny, tiny portion of the market compared to the giants. I'm afraid to tell you I have tried a large majority of players out there now which I constantly say check my profile. And you know why I tried the ipod Video? So I could have a true opinion and not speculate how it sounds for moments like this.....

It's warm, lacks detail and has an average soundstage. it's not much more detailed than a Sansa Clip, if even on the same clarity levels. I didn't find it much better than Sansa Clip to be honest and certainly not the headphone out even using the LOD couldn't drag it up enough. Something like CK4 instantly blows it away in SQ, how can I say this? because I. have. heard/own both, if you guys are settling on iPod Classic / Video for DAP's you're missing out on a world of detail levels however, I can understand the rockbox and LOD feature are very comforting, It was ok, and had decent rhythm, but still just doesn't have that refinement, separation, soundstage, clarity, dynamic range of the Rocco BA or Colorfly CK4, even C3 pulled away regardless of the specs (especially amp'd). It's just not very suitable player I'm afraid to my ears for serious listening, yet I imagine if some people don't actually try these players I speak about and Lee talks about you'll never know any better. redface.gif

May I remind you, there's two sides to every coin, like this thread here which rate the Clip+ better sounding than Classic, and you know what i think of the Clip.

7G Classic, but you get what I'm saying...
