Completely agree & I don't think anyone refutes this. But both get equal head time as the T90 has something which I am not able to describe properly to my satisfaction (Musicality, more Meaty ...). & I don't use Eq., used to but not anymore, as I have found amp / dac combinations which smooth out the top end.

Hmm... maybe I should also get a T1 & put in my deciding vote for this 90-95% vs 65-70% debate :D

hahah

If you have a good amp/source......you wont be looking back.

I have a good amp and source. And I still think the T90s are amazing for how much they currently run. Much better value than the T1. The T1 certainly is not 50 percent better at twice the price.
What amp/source do you drive your T1s with, Flog?

I am using

Audiolab Mdac

Meier Corda Classic

Great combo. Crack is really a great amp. Sets the entry level standard even for amp picky headphones like HD800.

When a particular headphone has a large percentage of people EQing, and especially for a specific frequency, then it's obvious that the sound signature of the headphone should have adjusted for that frequency in the first place.
Ah, I see. I do agree up to a point but can't say I agree with the t90 being a must eq, since I don't eq them myself. but I do admit that I like a brighter signature so I am biased there. smily_headphones1.gif

I actually prefer TS 5998 to TS 7316, I find it more smooth , works better with the T90's.

GEC 6AS7G brown base is amazing with HD 800  that was how my face looked when I first heard it.

I got some bad news guys... I just for a Balanced HE 4... was debating on going with the HE 4 or the T90... but seeing as the HE 4 was slightly cheaper and came with a balanced cable [$450 for the HE 4 cable and some other goodies]

I'm wondering has any one compared the HE 4 with the T90

I Owned the hd 800 and t90 at the same time, and while I would go back and forth between the two, I still wanted more. .my 800s sounded dull to me but had textured mid bass and a huge sound stagebut sometimes hearing things from a distance sounds unnatural. Going to the T90's, they had the lively mids and treble, but I wanted more from both. The T90's can sound a little grainy in the mids, and I just grew tired of both sets. I sold the 800s because I was listening less to them and bought the T1s based on reviews, ( there is a convincing YouTube review). I can tell you that I won't be buying any other hp unless these break. ..i would get listening fatigue from the other 2, with these I just never want to take them off. Everything just sounds 3 dimensional, and layered, the little bit of grain in the t 90s is gone, they have a nice natural sound stage (as do the 90s) but music like live jazz sounds just so life like, you feel like you are in the in the room with the musicians. Ambiant music feels like you are floating in space. The 90s and 800s just couldn't do it the same way. IMHO all Sennheisers are way overrated, they are like I phones, people just think they are so wonderful they stand in line whenever a new model pops up, and they don't really know why. So now I'm also selling my t90s as i don't think there is anywhere left to go. Just go on the the t1 forums, they all say the same thing. I just wish the T1s where as pretty as the T90's.

What are you using to amp your T1s?

Cheers

The Beyer dealer here does not carry T1 in stock only orders them from Beyer against advance payment (not enough demand i guess). So I am ordering it blind  based on you guy's recommendations , placed my order today, up side is he gave me an amazing discount to compensate for the wait. So even If I don't like it (the only reason I see myself not liking it is if I am not happy with the bass impact) , I can re-sell it for max 10% loss, so the wait begins.
