And if you're solely focused on basshead phones from reliable german maker,

Custom One Pros are not a bad choice. They lack DT990's sparkling high,

but easily rivals DT990's mid-bass even at Position 3 of their built-in custom sound slider.

 

Ultrasone PRO900=deep, profond sub-bass

Custom One Pro=enormous amount of mid-bass, clearly emphasize bass lines, kick drums.

Uhh, no. The Pro 900 has very little sub bass. The Pro 900 is all mid bass. blink.gif

You want sub-bass, you go Denon.

there are some D7000 floating around still. Although it is a closed headphone, but it sound like an open headphone. You will be amazed. It has a speaker like soundstage. The isolation is bad tho. It should only be used in a home setup.

I've seen conflicting reports about the HE-500. Has anyone compared the He-500 with the 7000s? ARRGGGHH.

 

My love-hate relationship with head-fi is driving me nuts, again :) eek.gif

If you are really keen, then post a wanted on the buy and sale thread. I sold my first D7000 and bought another one few months later when i started to miss it. Now i am just saving it since its discontinued.

The hifiman is the overall better headphone in all aspects. Then again, it depends on the flavour you're looking for. The denons are more u-shaped.

There's also the XB1000, granted they won't have even half the Quality of the D7000, but for JUST sub bass... they do pretty well!

 

Non the less T90 sounds interesting e.e how is it different from the Dt 990 pro [which I'm saving up for atm]

Well, I found a pair of 7000s on ebay a few days ago. Ostensibly in excellent condition, "gently used" which I'm hoping means "broken in" and not "broken". I should get them by Monday. Sheesh, that was expensive! My new Corda Jazz should arrive around the same time.

Sheesh you lucky Dog, I'd love a pair of Denons myself! Although for the price of the D7000 I might go with the Byerdynamic T1... w8 w8 w8, which is the super High End can that has the Adjustable Bass? I though it was the T1 although I might be thinking of the COP, which I hear is also good

 

that being said I definatley want a DT 880 600ohm for at home use and guess what

 

OMG THERE's A SPDIF out on my MOTHER BOARD, I never saw it till yesterday xD So I can get a TOslink Optical cable and run my dt 880 600s through a nice sexy DAC and DAP ^^

 

*sigh* The Germans make such great cans I'm gonna go broke soon lol
