Beyerdynamic T90 :D - Page 236

post #3526 of 3686

I just got a used T1, gen 1. Wow. I'm sorry to say that my T90 (which I loved, until now) just sounds harsh and sibilant compared to the T1 gen 1. The T1 is a huge step up.

If you are really really into treble, the T90 might be a better choice. I'm into treble, sparkle if you will, and at first listen the T1 is just wonderful.

Computer -> DACCord -> Crack -> headphones

Allanmarcus you shouldn't say that..., think about people wallets... :) On the other hand it is great, maybe you will find peace now :)

And the price, damn, i doubt i would throw 1000EUR into headphone, maybe if my income would be 5 times like that... But now i would put it in something like this instead.

I used the braid method to make my T90 cable shorter, and it's completely reversible.

Maybe T90 aren't harsh or bright as you say, but rather detailed and neutral and the recordings are bright and harsh as it comes to the nowadays mastering techniques and massive not so good quality production? Just try to think over it IMHO.

I was blown away by Beyerdynamic T90 and Beyerdynamic A2 amp combo. Amount of detail with such combination was astonishing... Only best of best can compare in this regard... Everything was on point, but dont know if treble would be ok for you... I personally someday would buy A2. Would be great if beyer can lower the price...

 I have been listening to the Beyerdynamic T90 - A 20 combo in the hifi store before buying my T90's. I agree, the amount of detail was absolutely stunning. Although I find the combination still too analytical, too "trebely", a kind of sound signature I didn't really find pleasing, and which very probably wouldn't allow me to listen for many hours straight. I am still very convinced that a good tube amp brings more joy to the listening experience with the T90.

I was talking about A2 not A20... But A2 would be even more treble happy. Well, someone dont like SS and love tubes. I personally hate tubes and preferr Clean signal from dac and amp. If i want colored sound, i pick colored headphones. But thats just me.

indeed solid state. i didn't want to mess with tubes just yet. the burson and the bimby pair well together. add a little warmth to the T90's and slightly tame the treble, add soundstage and separation. it's a win-win
