Beyerdynamic T90 :D - Page 86

^ Love hearing this. My preferred rig at the moment is my custom AK DAC, Crack/Speedball and the T90. Honestly, I never thought I'd own dynamics again. My LCD2v2, custom HE-5, custom balanced DAC's (9018/CS) with balanced 'Wire' amps generally sit idle these days. What I give up in Otho impact, this chain more then makes up for with incredible lushness, dynamics and staging. I have a Vali inbound so I'm looking forward to hearing the difference vs. Crack myself. When the mood strikes, the Torpedo swaps in nicely. It gives up in some ways vs. the Crack/SB, but there's nothing quite like a parafeed (detail, smoothness).

I suspect Vali will find a place in the rotation.

T90, M-DAC (A.10 firmware) + Meier Corda Classic is my end game.

Sound is phenomenal.

O2  + ODAC = Superb.

I am getting the Dark Voice 336i in a couple of days , will post how it pairs with the T90's.
It pairs beautifully. smily_headphones1.gif Although, there's no room for a dac w/ the 300 budget. Maybe some combo of odac/modi/HiFiMeDiy Sabre + Vali/O2. I've heard good things about the Audio GD NFB 11.32/15.32 if you want a all in one unit.

Bought mine used for $150, so you do have $150 left over for a Dac.  but on the other hand also bought $ 60 worth of extra tubes for tube rolling

I'm getting a Vali my self! Hoping it will add a smidge of intimacy back into my W1000x!

With the m Stage the w1000x had great warmth an intimacy, the details where a little lacking, so I'm hoping the new NFB 10 ES2 dac with the vali will upstage the old oDac mStage

That sounds like one hell of a nice combination.

How would you compare the earpads on the T90 to the velour pads on the DT990?

Just got my T90 :D

Pure comfort wise, they're softer than the DT velours.

Impressions to come soon after my Vali + Modi arrives.

Running off no significant amplification,

Whoever said these sound hollow and unfocused should stop reviewing headphones, forever.

The T90 is very full bodied and doesn't lack bass at all. They are siblent, and the highs can be harsh at times, but is usually not an issue. Impact is very somewhat powerful. Things can only get better after my proper setup can be used.

The first out of the box impression is always that the highs are harsh. But after about a week they sound more natural.

I'm newish to the hobby and the T90 paired with the Vali makes me want to weep tears of joy. It's that 'oh wow' moment when I really understood why people are paying SO much money for some of this stuff. You're going to love it.

That statement has actually been described quite frequently for the T70.

Q: Which 'earcushions' from the Beyer site do the T90 use?

Are they the same as the T1? I wrote to Beyer and received no response.

NM, finally managed to find the answer to my own question: EDT90M

Beyer wants $15 to ship $50 earpads. lol.
