Can't wait to build myself a Crack and finally get a chance to hear it.

Exactly what is the "SpeedBall"and... happy to hear your enjoying T90+Tube :D

It's a Camille Cascode Constant Current Source upgrade that more optimally loads up the plate(s), driving the tubes into the more optimum part of the curve. It also further decouples the PS from the tube circuits, resulting in better air, separation and blackness. As least that's what I gathered :-)

Noticeable difference! Faster, blacker background, more micro detail - IMO Speedball is mandatory if you want to get the most out of the awesome amp.

The last month or so I've been listening to my T90's with my Torpedo amp. The synergy was pretty damn good. Finished up my Crack this morning - very very nice with the T90's. Still running stock tubes. Fairly stock build, with the exception of upgraded RCA connectors, input wiring, stepped attenuator and output caps.

I need to install Speedball, but don't want to stop listening :-)
I am with you there. Been listening for days to the stock Crack, alternating between T90 and HD800. Using a Bendex 6080wb. Liking what I am hearing so much that it will be awhile before I feel the urge to install the Speedball already delivered.

How would you compare the two? I find the T90 to have a smaller soundstage, but that in turn creates a very intimate sound like in a recording studio, and to me it really excels in genres like rock. But I bet HD800 wipes the floor in details and hearing the finest subtleties compared to T90? Which sound signature do you prefer and for what genres?

I am privileged to have both the T90 and HD800. The soundstage is more intimate with the T90 while a bit larger with the HD800. But I appreciate both headphones for their respective sound signatures. The T90 have a bit more excitement in the bass. HD800 have a little more detailed resolution. Having both I would not want to be without either. It is like being able to hear your favorite musicians in different venues with alternate room acoustics. The T90 spend more time with a Woo WA7 and the HD800 with the Bottlehead Crack. They do get switched up to great effect. Both excel at Jazz, Classical and Classic Rock. I'll give the nod to the T90 for electronica and trance, though a TH-900 will do those even better.

:O wait, the T90 is Intimate compared to the HD 800... the T90 does have MORE sound Stage than the Dt 880 right :O

Remember, the T90 and HD800 are both very fine headphones. If constrained, I could live with either one. As it is, I enjoy whichever depending on mood and would not want to be without either. WA7 and T90 spend a lot of time together as to the Crack and HD800. Sometimes I switch it up to great effect. The differences between these two are far less than the differences experienced by moving to either one from the mid level cans.

T90 are something special, that's for sure.

To compare them to the HD800 is quite an accomplishment because in Aus they are 1/3 the price of them.

my vote for best headphone under $1000

Sheesh, I'm just wondering how big the HD 800 sounds and if I REALLY want that much sound stage [for classical yes plz] but I really do like my modded W1000x and it is CLOSED :O, it does well for Vocal Heavy anything, because is is more intimate than the Dt 880 and HE 400 respectively

Still the T90 is on my Radar for sure. Not sure how long it will be before I snatch on up! I might get a D5k for my Portable EDM needs, then sit on my current gear till I get a new place to live in [not sure If I'll grab a LDMK VI+ now or then either]

I've run into some finical troubles at my College so... I'll have to see how this all plays out this year before I can get anything new honestly.
