Ya see that big round chamber in the back..That be the secret to these having an enormous sound..Soon my friend soon. But for now enjoy them CKM500s. I would consider the CKM500s as being a very special earphone.. I am about to go on a nice road trip with the family. I will not be on the forums for a few days and I will visit when I can but. Happy listening everyone that is getting these..You guys will understand why I feel these will be popular among our headfi brothers and sisters.

You bet I will have my CKM500 on my Z1060 packed with my faves..

Safe travels and ever since I've put these earphones in my ears today, I haven't taken them out.  To me that's a great compliment to how beautiful they sound.  Strait out of the iPhone too.  I don't even want to put them in something that will make them shine even more or I'll get nothing done.

From your extensive list of current and past inventory, how do these hold up?

Nothing wrong with them from an iPhone. I use them exclusively with my iPhone 4 and they sound great.

I would put them close to the top.  I just don't remember putting on an earphone or headphone right out of the box and enjoying them this much right away.  I can't emphasize the word "lush" so much with these.  I realize they might not meet all the technical abilities required by certain people but I really can't find any faults with these.

Hey, if I found the ckm-50s to be uncomfortable, would I have the same problem with these?

I was actually hoping you wouldn't say anything of the sort haha (that was my wallet nervously laughing). Thanks.

Just bought a pair via CDJapan, EMS Shipping! Can't wait to rock these. I had 2 CKM55s and a EX500. By what people are saying, some even claiming these are better than the EX600... well, I have high expectations for it. I hope to not be disappointed lol

Ive never heard an ex600 but man do these sound nice. The biggest change from what i was used to before is the highs. They have a very extended, and very sparkly top end. I already owned in ears that had excellent bass and smooth lush mids, but these equal those and add the very nice top end to them. I have been enjoying these quite a bit. I cant find anything wrong with them.

Only Sony EX phones I've owned were the EX1000's and those were the best universals that I've ever heard.  I got rid of them because I didn't care for the large housing, though they were comfortable but I just couldn't get them to sit right if I was moving around.  The other issue, though not so bad at lower volume, was the sibilance.  On certain tracks, it just got to be too piercing to enjoy.  They had the perfect bass for my taste.  The CKM500's do not share any of the sound signatures of the Sony's but they just sound right to me.  As I said in an earlier post, they just don't really do anything wrong to these ears.  Mine are going on its tenth hour of continuous playing time and only thing I notice so far is that the bass has tamed down a bit.  Possibly the treble has smoothed out a bit also but hard to tell.

These are very comfy. The housing does not have an edge like the CKM50s. If you take a good look at the way they look. These are smallish for the same driver size that was on the CKM50s..And very ergonomic so they are smooth around the edges. I know what you mean as the CKM50 literally was a dish and had a hard edge that would have been uncomfy for smaller ears canals. Everything about the new CKM500s are better.. These CKM500s are more like a smooth cone shape than dish.

Well. If you enjoy your music these CKM500 are made for that like you wouldn't believe. If you want to analyze your music some may prefer a EX600... These would be the exciting version of the EX600 with a much more engaging sound..The EX600 aren't quite what these are.

You have great ears Danny. That is exactly what happens with burn. These balance out and the highs polish up to a pin point shine, bass end tightens up..After these you can tell how boring some more regarded earphones are. These might ruin what many of you guys considered great sounding before lol!

Ah, that's good to know. Btw, I love how involved you stay with your threads. It's really helpful. On a side note, does anyone have a picture of these hanging in their ear? They look rather large and I'm just curious whether they protrude out or not.

Is it possible to avoid customs both with ebay and cdjapan? Now I wouldn't want to pay like 40 euros of taxes...
