why earbuds? i don't know much about the sony's but i do love my ety er-6. but i wouldn't exactly call them comfortable. it's more something you get used to. for me anyways. it's a really personal thing with etys and how your ears react to them.

what kind of music do you listen to if i may so inquire?

At $150 I would go for the Ety ER-6 over the Sonys. You might want to look at the Shure e3c at a few dollars more. It really depends on your music taste and whether you are looking for analytic detail or fun in-your-face presentation...

You can't expect too much for NC11. Any model of Etys and Shures are superior in both sound quality and noise blocking.

The Sony Noise Cancelling line is not that successful, and among those of us who are noise cancelling buffs, the consensus is that Bose QuietComfort 2 trumps Sony for noise cancellation (however, the QC2 is not an earbud design.)

I have listened to Sony noise cancelling earbuds and I didn't like them at all, although I am a fan of noise cancellation in general.

I'd rather go with any Etymotic or Shure canalphone than those Sony MDR-NC11's. Don't expect the noise-cancelling NC11's to sound any better than the much cheaper, non-noise-cancelling EX71's.
