Sony XB500(and other XB series cans) Appreciation Thread - Page 4

You'll be blown away if you're used to that level of bass. Anyway, let us know what you think as they may be a good budget option.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to skip out on the XB600.

It's a good thing I opted out from buying a credit card.

The reason is, I'm at the limit at this week, and I figured to read more reviews on the XB600. Apparently even bassheads say these don't push out enough bass on the official Sony website.

I'm going to wait until a miracle happens and the XB500 suddenly comes back to a local retail store.

IMHO that was the worst mistake Sony made, cancelling the old XB series and replacing it with mediocre cans. I would prefer if they released an updated version of the old series with removable cables or design.

I  bought recently my XB500, and I  like them quite a lot.

They are great for listening techno, the words "smooth bass" comes to my mind, the xb500 handle  the mid-bass effortlessly ....

But I  find the sub-bass lacking, and almost muted, so it's not 100% perfect for techno.

Otherwise I  find them very comfy too, and I  use them to watch film on my tablet, in my bed before sleeping.

I'm looking for a good replacement headband cover for my wife's XB500s....any suggestions?

Just ordered a pair of Sony XB500s off of ebay for 55$ shipped. Will be reviewing when I receive them.

I came into the world of headphones from car audio so this is going to be fun for me :L3000:

Well they are more than capable of reproducing sub-bass, believe me. Just EQ it to your needs or hook up an amp as this might be the audio source issue just as well, especially if you are using desktop PC with integrated audio or some smartphone with mediocre DAC.
