Are my tubes the same? 5654 and 6AK5

I bought the little dot III with the 5654 as stock, and I ordered the 6AK5 from a different supplier.

I check online for 5654 vs 6ak5 and they yield the result: " little dot III 5654 (6ak5) tubes" etc. Are they the same?

Was I screwed?

Yes... these are equivalent tubes with similar properties.  The M8100 and EF95 are also equivalents to the 6AK5 and 5654.  

 

But... I would not mix them in pairs (e.g. an EF95 with a 5654 or 6AK5), only like tubes in pairs (e.g.  5654 with a 5654, etc.).
