Wanted:
WTB: Sony MDR R10 headphones

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Hello, im a serious collector and am looking to buy a pair of rare Sony Mdr r10 headphones.

I understand that these arent often up for sale, so im just reaching out to the headfi members if an owner wishes to sell.

Im willing to pay handsomely. Im in the united kingdom and will pay shipping (fedex priority only for this) fees etc. drop me a pm if you wish to discuss it. Ive a registered business account in paypal and several 100% ebay accounts.

These headphones are not going to be sold on elsewhere, im a serious collector who looks after a nice collection while enjoying the phones regularly.

I have no preference for bass heavy or light versions. As long as they are fully working and in great conditon.

Hello, 8000?Seriously? I have some time was obsessed with their purchase, until I realized I did not want to spend so much money on headphones, but I'm a long time to monitor their cost and it is from 3500 to 4500 an average or good condition and from 4500 to 5500 in the magnificent. The last that I saw went for 4000. I am writing this because I do not like clever buying rare items for resale. One of them now in yahoo, I do not know whether you are satisfied with their condition, it is definitely mediocre. http://www.easyauctionjapan.com/productdetail.php?productId=r88890958

This auction is not ended yet  It usually goes up  much higher on the final day.

A good one may cost around 6500 dollars.

If you pay 8000$ please ask for the best conditioned Sony MDR R10.  The bass

heavy version usually cost more than the bass light by 500-1,000$

This one is probably the bass light version   the serial number is 900  if I recall

correctly

The Sony MDR-R10 is not a smart investment, even if you have it as NOS, sealed and boxed -- it's probably the worst high-value headphone related investment you could go for.  The drivers are bio-cellulose, which is biodegradable and will fail over time, and once they do, you'll just have an expensive paperweight.

Thanks for the info. I actually was given them at launch time, but ill bear it in mind.

Any chance we could maybe keep this thread related to people who want to sell their R10's rather than debating the actual headphones> Im sure there are plenty of threads relating to the R10 in the headphones forum.

You have a really nice collection,  not so many will be dedicated as you about the headphones collection.

May I have some suggestion? : you should get both bass light and bass heavy R10 and Qualia 010.

You have such a massive collections of all the beautiful Grado's.  However you should consider the PS1 in your collection

Should you also look for the orpheus and baby orpheus and possibly the SR Omega? for the electrostatic collection and may be the Koss also

Ultrasone?   You may also want to have the TakeT H2+

You  may consider the Audiotechnica L3000,   and the new anniversary edition
