Helloha, yes, I am looking for a someone to have a baby with.

 

Fed up am I, with forced choices between charactoristics and specs.  I want to remold my 1964-T quads but add in all the drivers from my 6 driver Miracles! Yes I appreciate this sounds sort of Frankenstein-esque and the size may be impossibly big, and the sound awful.  BUT I want to try.  If this goes well, it would be a 10 driver hybrid spectacular, with an unsurpassed soundstage and frequency response for its price.

 

I just need a company willing to try, and not charge me through the nose for it! (Lol if this goes badly wrong I will pay to have them remolded back into original-ish setups).

 

So who is up for it?! (I am based in the UK btw)

 

Eagerely (perhaps manically) awaiting fellow plotters responses!

N.B. I've been thinking perhaps breeding with a deep dynamic might be better, like the IE80? Any other suggestions for combos?

I would say you should check with Unique Melody.

I've heard tell they will combine drivers from other IEM's into one Frankenstein device.

Threesome! Haha I'd be worried about that being too 'vailled', kinda too low end cus of the dynamics?

I'd prefer not to use Unique Melody (bad customer service and long delays) thanks

If I could get the TWFK from my R-50 tuned for just mids and highs and the dynamic driver from my MG7 tuned for just the low end within a custom mold I'd be one happy guy.  I'm think of getting my R-50 re-shelled anyway because of how much I like the sound.

Well, I think you shouldn't be so decisive yet. Many things sound good at the start, but we always get bored of them. So I would suggest waiting a few more months before re-shelling.

Yea I wasn't talking about doing it anytime soon just down the line I would like to re-shell them and my TF10 because I might add drivers to both but I don't know yet.  Theres still other universals that I still want to get.

I don't know if you will be able to add drivers to the R-50 however.

I think this is a common misunderstanding. People often think that audio engineers just glue in some drivers--the more drivers they glue in, the better the sound!

 

That's not how it works.

 

Also, the soundstage won't be great.

 

Maybe read up on the topic a bit?

True, audio engineers have to tune the drivers when they put it in to ensure they sound synchronized.
