The HPA5000 could be listed as an OTL and OCL (Output Transformerless and Output Capacitatorless) design. Power output is approximately 5 WPC into a 40 to 50 Ohm impedance. The tubes in each channel (1) 6AN8 (1) E180CC (2) 7233. Voltage gain is +24dB. This amounts to a pure tube design possessing 2 pairs of RCA inputs and one 1/4" headphone jack output. The gain attenuator is Allnic designed and built 41 silver stepped.

I received an email from David at Hammertone Audio, it should ship out to me next week directly from South Korea so I hopefully will have it by the end of the month and it will be at Chi-Uni-Fi 6 this year.  Even better as I get to play with it for a couple of weeks before the meet.  One change is the 6211 tube in each channel was replaced with E180CC Mullards.

I'd like to go. Put me on the list. Here's what I might bring, depending on space:

Senn HD25s

AKG 240M

Audio GD Compass

Technics SL 1200

A handful of records

PLUS 3 mechanical keyboards to play with (I may bring my desktop): Ducky 9008 G2 (MX brown), TT Meka G1, PFU Happy Hacking Pro 2

Let me know if there are any issues with my list.

We just had a coffee shop open up in my town called Hot Cups. The girls wear revealing tops and the drink sizs are A, B, C, and D. Needless to say their coffee isn't very good, but I don't think that's a priority for them. Who knows. Maybe Hooters girls could be fun though Ray.

The last time Ray was around Hooter Girls he was almost arrested.

It was not a pretty site...although Ray said he did enjoy the handcuff part.

Wow, can't believe it is less than a month away.

I am looking forward to this year's event.  There will be a lot of great setups to audition all in one spot.

I heard at the 2012 CanFest the A-10 Thunderbolt with the Stax SR009 was astounding.

The Calyx Audio FEMTO DAC made its first appearance at the AKFEST up in Michigan and the feedback really sounded great so pairing it with a headphone setup should really be interesting.

This will be my first exposure to Allnic Audio products.  I think their interest in the heaphone amplifier market shows just how much the headphone market is growing.

If it makes it to Skylab in time, the new Schiit MJOLNIR balanced amplifier will also be great to get a chance to audition.

The prototype of the new HiFiMan HM901 sounds very interesting, especially after the review Warp08 did of the balance module for the HM801.  How far can they the portable market with products like this.

These are just of a few items on my listening list, but I am sure you have yours.

Hi Gang, I would like to try to attend if that is cool. I joined Audiokarma just over a year ago and started building a dedicated 2 channel system, and now and now I am trying to learn my way into head-fi. I have a few pairs of headphones and IEMs and I have been lurking this site for a few weeks. (it is still pretty overwhelming) smily_headphones1.gif

I don't have much (if anything) worth bringing, but i am very interested in coming to learn and listen if you will have me. I have been to a couple of audiokarma gatherings and they have been lots of fun and highly educational. I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere but; how do these gatherings work? is there an entry fee? how do you cover the cost of the room / raffle prizes, etc?

Welcome to Head-Fi.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  There are no registration fees for the event.  Just come and enjoy.  ChiUniFi started 6 years ago and uses the raffle to raise money to cover the cost of the event.  The goal is to raise money for next's year event rather than focus on the current year as the first ChiUniFi started that trend.  The supporters of our event are listed on post 2 while the items to date for the raffle are in post 3.  Come on out and enjoy the meet and get to know other Chicago area Head-Fiers and get a chance to hear some really great systems.
