Something strange just happened to my headphones

I have a $25 Rosewill headset I bought in October of last year to replace my old broken headphones. The audio quality on it has always been meh coming from someone who hasn't listened to anything better. But today, I was listening to music when the bass became suddenly much more prominent then before (there was almost none before, you could hear it but it sounded far away and quiet). Other than that the audio quality is exactly the same.

Is it just my head or is it possible there was some sort of kink in the driver that fixed itself?

It could be the jack. Sometimes if the jack isn't all the way in or if something else isn't quite right, you won't get bass. Seems though what ever it was it is now fixed....if it was broken that is. Who knows, maybe it is in your head?
