I'm also liking my own stealth finish. It's nice and sleek, especially now that I'm about to be off on rotations in the pharmacy. I can get away with using them when I'm in the stock room because hey're so low profile. The added benefit is that they'll never yellow, and the black cables will never go green.

Congrats eke2k6! Did you get the AS-2 or ASG-2? Can't go wrong with either in my opinion. beerchug.gif

Now hurry up and finish med school so that you can buy each of your head-fi buddies a Benz! I'm just saying! ... lol

The ASG-2 is what I have here.

Ha! You severely overestimate our salaries. Maybe if I create a new blockbuster drug....

So some 24k gold asg-2's would work for me.

As long as we're doing this, I'd want customs made entirely of sapphire crystal. If my watch is any indication, it would be awesome.

Now we're talking!  That I can do. You'll have to wait until I buy my mom a house though.

As for the ASG-2, it's exactly what I wanted from a ASG-1.2 upgrade. It's like someone EQ'ed the 1.2 to perfection, but the highs are better than I could have imagined and smooth as butter.

The one caveat is that I wish the bass was more focused in the sub-bass. I don't think it has as the same mid/sub bass ratio as the 1.2, and opening up the vents skews it even more toward the upper bass. I've had it on blast since 6 last night though (on a bass-only EQ, so as to not potentially damage the tweeters), so hopefully it tightens things up.

Overall, Dale is a beast. To me, it competes with the IE800, an iem twice the price of the base ASG-2, and potentially the best universal I've heard. A great achievement.

Because of the use of a dynamic driver, and after burn-in, is it an assumption that the asg-2 mid-bass will soften up so the sub-bass frequencies are more audible?

Hm...  That's odd.  I found the bass port to give the ASG-2 a bump in the sub-to-low bass region.  Definitely didn't feel like a bump in the midbass.

I'll play devils advocate muahaha. It isn't unheard of that a floor model is set up for optimal performance.

I'm not going to conclude anything until I give these a good burn-in. At least 100 hours.

I normally just use the IEM for a week and say how I feel about it.  That's the time it normally takes me to be able to get an unbiased feel for them (knowing the good and bad).  It may take others longer (or even never due to their psyche).

I feel like it raises the sub-bass, but also the mid-bass. It's jut too much for me. I keep mine closed.
