I introduce to you, the people of the internets, my Stealth AS-1d's:

After trying unsuccessfully to hear the difference between the AS-1's and AS-2's I realized a splitter isn't gonna do it. Sensitivity is different. Emailed Dale and he confirmed my suspicious quite immediate......These have a new driver in them. Guess I need to find some better gear to volume match them to tell the difference in tuning in a side by side comparison.

It looks a bit rough in person, but feels rubbery and smooth. doesnt help how close i was though. Anyways, for those wondering, new driver is currently massaging my head....so clean so beautiful (listening to some dubstep)

How much was it to upgrade?

AS-1 with 'd' package costs $100 more than standard AS-1

That one is going to be a personal answer.  When you pay that 100 dollars, you pay for versatility, specifically versatility with the bass.  So I'd answer your question with another one, do you believe that versatility of the bass is worth 100 bucks?  EG, do you think it's worth 100 bucks to have the ability to tune the bass?  Some will say yes, some would say no; others say it's a straight draw (myself would be here).  

I do have another question though, how much more (and less) can you tune the bass with the port and what part of the bass is affected?

Oh right, I understand, I guess it would be for me since I love my bass and am quite the basshead myself and although I thought the ASG 1 was quite overpowered and bloated, uncontrolled, etc then maybe the bass port could help me out on that.

LOL, the ASG-1 (1.2) bass is strong, I don't mind it myself though.  I wouldn't say uncontrolled, but definitely see why you feel that way ;), strongly-bodied and textured would be where I'd put it.

Wonder how strong the ASG 2 would be.
