So tempted to do the same.  Unfortunately I thought I had a sale lined up for something and it fell through.  

 

Does it make sense for someone like me to get the AS-2 to listen to my music? I mean I'm hoping to use them on stage at some point but nothing in the foreseeable future - except potentially recording at audition cd's.  I tend to enjoy my 1.2's more for my classical/jazz recordings than some of my rock music which I find interesting. Sorry - I just have a harder time pulling the trigger on a much larger purchase.

If you can afford it I would go for it for sure.

Don't forget that Dale has the upgrade special for us ASG-1 owners as well if you don't presently have the funds

I will be using mine both on-stage and also to listen to music for enjoyment, fwiw.

Awesome and helpful to know.  Can Aesthetics be added to the AS-2 at a later time?

I believe we've gone over this in PM. Aesthetics can be added, you're just gonna have to separate from your AS-2's for a little when you send them in. 

 

AFAIK, the only thing that can't be added after the fact is the ambient port. That needs to be on the order at original time of purchase if you ever wanna have it. Otherwise I believe everything is able to be added to the AS-2's.

After receiving feedback from Eke2k6 that an IEM similar to the sony 7750 and RE262 combined would be the ASG 1.2 and with confirmation from my mentor King Flysweep,  I decided to take advantage of the discount today and get the ASG-2, even tho its not the 1.2.   Unable to reach Flysweep today to confirm that he would also recommend the ASG-2 for me I ended up calling Aurisonic.    (I believe Flysweep is on assignment from Morpheus and is somewhere in the Matrix fighting Mr. Smith!!)

Anyway, I ended up speaking to Dale, who encouraged me(after getting my age)LOL!!  to get the AS2.  Actually, he indicated hearing changes a bit with age and after listening to my concerns, particularly my recent fav the GR07 sounds "too bright" and my current sig is the 7750"less bright", he suggested customs.   Well, instead of $375, I've now ordered a several hundred $$ more custom, but based on the Sweep's "out of this worlds' review" of the AS2, I'm going to be getting the AS2.

So there you have it.    Besides my last name being Lott, I'm hoping the AS2 is similar to the "less bright to my old ears" as the 7750 and 262 and with even better sound than them!  Thanks for reading!

They can be added but the price will be higher as we have to make a new set of covers, polish the body with the units together without damaging them, new connectors and then the plating so the answer is yes they can be added but it will cost more. How much? Since no one has actually done that yet we have not come up with pricing. For sure ambient cannot be added later without new shells and rebuild.

Kenman - it's not that I didn't believe you.  Hearing Dale's answer/work involved, etc. makes a difference - that's all.  I.e. spending x-amount now or much more later for the work he mentioned.

How does the ASG2 sound compare to the ASG1?  I sold my 1.2 because I didn't like the "cavelike presentation."

Exciting :-)  I honestly think I'm about to do the same.  Did you do the basic frosted option or one of the other aesthetics?

You'll have to wait a little while for this one I'd think :p  The ASG-2 hasn't been released yet :p

 I was able to pull the trigger for the AS-2 - I'm nearly bouncing in my chair right now!!  I'll have to call the audiologist first thing Monday morning and funny enough, I've never been to one before so I'm looking forward to it.  A big thanks to all of you who have posted thoughts/reviews - it helped quite a bit!!
