Also, how much size/weight does the chrome option add to the iem?

There is no comparison, really, of the AS-2''s bass quantity (and quality) against the GR07. The AS-2 is in an entirely different league. First and foremost, the GR07 can't reproduce the three-dimensional sound that the AS-2 (and ASG-2) can. It's completely apples and oranges.

I guess I can't be part of the early ASG-2 crowd as I'll be on a tight living arrangement for the next month or 2. Although I've been enjoying my ASG-1s very, very much. I hope the upgrade process is smooth and hassle-free.

Would you say that the bass in the AS-2 betters the Ex1000 or the FX-700 Eric? I think those two are commonly used as a metric for quality bass. How about tone and timbre? Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thanks

I should be going towards studio at the start with a look to progressing to live. Currently very interested in Aurisonic's custom IEMs because I want to get some musician earplugs as well ... the 25% off them is a great discount too. I put neutrality above everything because the last thing I want is to hear things that the artist didn't meant for me to hear. Would like to hear more recommendations of the IEMs before eventually plunging in as it'll set me back for about 1k bucks in my currency :S

Also is it possible for more customization of the CIEMs? I wouldn't mind the basic set... but I'd like to have more colour choices :S

You may not have seen, but the type of material used in the process only comes in clear, it is then water honed to get it frosty.

Don't really know any other IEM's for you, but I really love my AS-2's and they still find ways to surprise me at how well they handle everything I throw at them. Custom fit is definitely a big deal if you can afford it. Before the AS-2's I didnt have any custom IEM's. I would end up spending a few minutes at the beginning of any listening sessions fixing my IEM's to be comfortable and provide the best seal. With CIEM's you have a perfect fit so they slide in and you have a perfect seal every time instantly. If you are like me, then you wont miss having to do all that stuff at the beginning of a listening session. Sometimes I forget that ever used to happen

I am a bit confused - is the special one-day price for the ASG2  $499 (25% off what it will really cost later), or is it going to be $375-ish, which is 25% less than the $499 intro price?

also, when will a customer be charged, and when will the 2's ship to the customer?

thanks for answering,

Mark

I believe this was covered in the last few pages. The sale will be 25% off $499... so about $375. I also believe it was mentioned that the ASG-2 would ship after the launch at NAMM (so end of january). I believe customers will be charged now though

sorry for not reading more carefully  - been crazy-busy at work..

Not a big deal in the long run. It was a bit confusing at first for everyone so at least now it's been well documented what is apparently going on.

Thanks Eric. I believe it since I had the ASG-1.2. I was mainly interested in quantity. Seems like it has more quantity than the ASG-1.2 and the GR07. I wonder how the mid-bass affects the mids?

Now here's a tough question. . . .  how long is the cable that comes with the AS-2?

Terry.

I believe it is 48-50 inches long. That's a pretty standard length cable for CIEM's these days.

EDIT: Just checked Aurisonics website but their is no mention of the length of the cable. But they use the same cables for all their models so it's whatever length that stock cable is.
