Where can I buy the HM 901? It's not offered on head direct dot com

It is still yet to go on sale outside of China I believe. I think Fang projected sometime this month for international sales to begin.

It's still yet to go on sale within China too ;-). Mimouille mentioned they're not on sale in Shanghai yet nor available for demo.

I see thanks! How much is it expected to cost?

Oh your right, I got confused. It's just the few folks who traded in their old 801's I think... Wonder what will happen to all those traded in 801's?

That is right, and when I asked the stores he in Shanghai when the jiu-ling-yao (901 wink_face.gif) would be available, there were most sarcastic about their answer, saying that since it is always pushed back, I should not be in a hurry....

can't really blame them , fang have been teasing us for quite some time now

According to some forum members at erji.net, the second batch has been released to pre-orderer a few days ago.

I guess international customers probably can only expect to order the HM-901 from April or May?

Read some impressions (after google translation) on erji.net, from what i can make out, it seems pretty promising sound wise. smile.gif

But it seems the mechanical construction leaves a lot to be desired though....

Yeah http://erji.net/read.php?tid=1419362

Those are not major issues though, hopefully will be sorted out in later revisions.

The scroll wheel button looks poorly made, too, I'm saddened to see:

The scroll wheel button looks and works just fine on my HM901 though. Scroll wheel itself is very solid actuallyl. The only two problems I can see so far are the hold switch and back battery cover. The hold function is fine but the switch itself also double as mechanical volume lock. Since the volume control is already recessed and can't be moved accidentally, I don't see the reason of a redundant mechanical lock. It only adds an unnecessary point of failure in the future. The back cover on the other hand is too tight, with no room to spare between it and the battery. It adds too much stress on the back cover which I think is unnecessary as well.

Those are the only two hardware issues I see, the rest are software based and can be addressed in future firmware update. Back cover should be an easy fit, if they would just add another 1~2mm of inner space by making the back cover bigger and strengthen the construction. Not too sure about the mechanical lock itself except to be careful during use.
