FS: NOS TDA1543 Dac with Blackgates by Peter Daniels (AudioZone)!!!
Will Ship To: Anywhere
I am selling my Peter Daniel's TDA1543 Nos dac given an upgrade purchase. This dac is the same as Audiozone Dac-1, built by the same designer as an assembled kit. It's well known for its smoothness. Peter used the same identical circuit and parts, and sold the NOS dac without a case, for sound purity. All the capacitors are Blackgates, now discontinued.
I had purchased this dac to mod it in order to use it with a battery, but I just don't have time.
This dac uses the same chip as Museatex Idat-M, and, being a fan, I wanted to make something even better out of the NOS dac. I had chosen Peter's TDA1543 take (over similar offerings) as the best starting point for further improvements, both because of its design (it reminds closely of 47 Labs' Shigaraki and Progression dac's), and for the abundance of Blackgates caps, not found anywhere else.
So, even if this dac is already very good as it is (its commercial sibling, the AudioZone Dac1, costs 1000 usd), I hope someone could perform the same mods I had in mind for it... Or even better ones!!
As far as I am concerned, I would suggest the following:
- battery power modification
- replacing the output capacitors with VitQ ones (known for their analogue sound, I was using them in my Audiocats-modded Babystax... They are better than Auricaps, in my opinion)
- with less urgency, follow the further modifications found on DIY Audio forum (where Peter suggests further improvements on resistor modifications and such...)
Shipping is 15 Euros with tracking number (Europe), 20 for outside Europe.
I can accept either Bank transfer, or Paypal.
Thanks for looking.
