TF10 Replacement Cable Options - Page 3

Based on my understanding, over very long distances, the metal conductance properties come into play.

And I mean *very* long.

For instance, the resistance of a 1000 feet copper cable (24 guage) is 26 Ohms, while a silver wire of the same guage and distance is 24 Ohms. That is 2 Ohms over 1000 feet. Try to see how much difference it makes over 3-8 feet.

Most cables are already shielded.

Believe it or not, I've actually had some luck with a relatively unexpected cable - Future Sonics' Ear Monitor cable. Granted, it's not some high-end silver aftermarket cable, but I've noticed a tangible difference in sound from this on the TF10s. I recently had the opportunity to do a A-B test with a friend's TF10s on the stock cable, and I noticed that with the FS cable, the highs were brought to a less sibilant level. The mids came forward a little bit more, and lows were a slight bit more pronounced.

It costs a modest $36 from Future Sonics directly, and is your usual, Westone-style braid, with your L-shaped jack a la Westone, usual strain relief Y-junction and Westone connectors. It's available in black, clear, beige and brown, in various lengths direct from the FS online store.

For the price, it is not something to get super excited about, but is definitely a notable improvement over the stock cable, with its terrible cable memory issues and tendency to break around the memory wire portion.

Perfect info for me. Thanks for posting.

Haven't been able to access your list through a search or directly from your link.  Was the thread taken down for some reason?

List was shut down a while ago, due to some MOT's posting about their cables. Check the link in my signature for now. I am working on an expanded list.....gonna be really awesome and useful. No MOT's hopefully, just people posting thanks and links to for sale listings of different cables. It would make for an ultimate resource for aftermarket cables.

any for around 100? looking at the chris himself.. just wondering if there are other options

What you mean? Which type of IEM? Take a look at the list, it spells it out pretty well. There are a few options under $100, Chris_Himself cables price has changed, working on fixing that. (New wire = new price, that price is from about two months ago, haven't gotten any published price yet though)

EDIT: Sorry, forgot this was a thread for a TF10, still, check out the list. Most options that are for TF10's include the letters "UE" in the name of the cable

EDIT 2: updating the price for Chris_Himself cables, it's $80 starting price
