Sennheiser IE800 IEM's - Page 108

+2... Sick of the standard tips

Sorry,I didn't get your idea.Which tip is the best for IE800 ? Standart (stock) tips you say ? Or whan can you suggest to me ?

So I lost a tip - ggrrrrrr. To get a set of large round replacement tips here in Australia will set me back $58.

I absolutely love these phones and to me the tips are the comfiest I've ever tried and fit perfectly getting a great seal immediately 100% of the time - however $58 for one set of tips is straight up robbery!!!!

So - does anyone out there want to trade me a pair of large rounds for any of the other sizes (which I don't use) - small / small oval / medium / large oval?

PM me or just reply on this thread. thanks.

that is pretty bad.  I havent checked how much it is here, but I wouldnt mind buying it and shipping it at cost to you if you need.  pm me if you are interested.

Thanks. That would be awesome if there was a decent price differential - if you could check it out that would be great. I fear though that Sennheiser will have a horrid price set for these tips set globally.

To me such a steep price for replacement tips (that actually come off fairly easily) is a bit of an insult. I guess they must think that if you can afford the ie800's then fifty bucks here and there ain't no thing.

I asked Sennheiser to let me buy a whole Set of IE800 tips for a cheaper price. They told me that it's not possible didn't even try to help.

This is the biggest rip off in the whole industry after the Tera Player.

Haha, thanks for your help guys.

Let's deprive sennheiser of some cash - anyone wanna trade me a pair of large rounds for any other size?

What was up with the tera player? I never really followed it. But yes, I'm pretty disappointed in how they're treating their customers.

I've had my stock tips come off on several occasions, but not any more after I performed this mod:

Now I'm using small pieces cut from alcohol swabs, about 8 by 8 millimeters. Let the alcohol evaporate until they're dry, put a piece on top of the nozzle and secure it with the tip. Not only does the fabric attenuate and smooth out the highs a bit, but it also makes the tips stay more securely attached to the nozzle.

This is what I'm talking about:

Who does use another tips ? And which tips are nice without standart tips ?

if you guys can try to find the filters that come with cardas IEM they fit the IE800 great , the bass and mids do not change but treble becomes a lot less brighter. Sound becomes what we can consider warm and analog type compared to the U shape they had before the mod.

Did anyone compare IE800 with Earsonics S-EM6 ?

Thanks to hedphonz for being a great Head-fi'er and hooking me up with a tip.

If anyone else is still keen to trade their large rounds for any other size please hit me up as I fear further tip losses may be in my future however I will try James444's mod.

Interestingly I tried some other tips last night - the earsonics and westone star tips don't fit, my meelectronics and B&W tips did fit - however both delivered a significantly reduced SQ.
