High Fidelity,

I cuurently own the SE846 and my taste in music is similar to you namely, Progessive and Progressive Metal and I think the SE846 is great. With the deep bass that does not bleed into the smoothest midrange you would really love the 846. With replaceable cables and a lot of tip selections both stock and aftermarket you can rally alter the set up to suit you. PM me if you have any further questions

Well the Samsung HS3000 arrived today,I have been using them for about an hour now (after charging them) and at the moment I am a bit disappointed with them as they are not very loud, even at full volume level on both the Samsung HS3000 and the iPod they are about the same as about the 70% level with the ie800's connected straight to the iPod.Even at full volume the punchyness of the bass is not there.

My HS3000 arrived last week at some point. I noticed a loss in audio quality straight away its subtle but I did notice it, but for the benefit of being wire free its worth it, I haven't however noticed a loss in bass or volume i usually have it at about 70% and if i got higher it hurts my ears, I am using android though so maybe thats why, try an android device and see if its just the ipod.

With my SGS3, the phone's volume and HS3000's volume combined can go unbearably loud.

As for bass, the HS3000 has a bit of rolloff, but that synergizes well with the IE800's overly boosted subbass in my book.

Just a heads up,

I have paired the IE800s with the DX50 and have achieve really great results especially with the

custom EQ, where I am able to EQ the sub-bass down. Very musical and resolving music I'm hearing !!!

IMO, a lot better combination compared to the X3, X3 did lots of things well, just not with the IE800s.

You would likely be better off with the DX50, the X3 being warm sounding makes the IE800s a little too extreme. I know of some people disposing their X3 like myself when pairing with the IE800s but they're just not active in posting that information up. The lack of EQ on the X3 mean you will have to live with the elevated sub-bass.

This is pretty much how I feel, except I'm pairing with an ipod 5.5th gen with the Apex Glacier as an amp.

By the way .. Which is the best tip for ie800 ?

stock. dont lose them crazy expensive

Stock because it's the only one that fits due to the patented clips... And yes, replacements ain't cheap.

I hate the simple feature and simplicity of it but I gotta say I have never been a fan of IEM because i do not like the sound no matter for the price, but this time "WOw" to the sound of IE800, its almost as good and better than my full size cans.

Question to the owners!

Did anyone had troubles with the cable of this model?

I found it for a good price in Ukraine. Considering to purchase, but i am afraid that cable is not fully interchangeable.
