ATM no. And I don't think the IE800 should be used with custom sleeves, since Rin's blog has shown that shallow insertion would work best with the IE800, so you risk changing the intended sound signature.

I feel for you. The microphonics are a pain on the move, and for quiet listening the boosted sub-bass might be too much. The SM64 fits the former purpose, and the EX1000 fares a lot better with the latter, all at a lot cheaper than how much the IE800 would set you back. I guess I'm one of the lucky folks who can deal with both issues, being a stationary listener while having high bass tolerance.

Just had a look and geez, if you'd given up on them earlier I'd be the one swooping them tongue.gif

I'd come across his blog awhile back. didn't know it was the same guy. couldn't agree more with his assessment of the piano forte Vlll and it's hard to ignore the measurements.

Hi Mimouille

I assumed you have both 1+2 and the ie800, I'm keen to learn which one pairs well with the Tera?

Thanks

Custom Cable should do the trick. Well regarded customer service, and it looks that you're not paying VAT if you're outside EU, so that should bring price down to around 500 GBP. And you're getting your warranty.

Hey, how do these compared to the phonak 232, i listen to mostly Linkin Park and some other bassy stuff

Well... this sort of thing has never happened before but I lost my IE800s on a train today. eek.gif

I am being philosophic about it. rolleyes.gif

I had a hell of a run with them - much musical enjoyment - but the ergonomics were driving me nuttier and more frustrated with each passing week. angry_face.gif

So I will not be replacing them. However I am sold on the concept of (at least partly) dynamic, vented IEMs. That is the legacy of the IE800 for me. I already exchanged communications with Gavin of Tralucent. The next adventure could be the 1Plus2. I want to hear them first.

Now why was I not on that darn train. Shrugs.

Seriously though, sorry to hear 'bout that frown.gif

On another note though, good luck with the 1Plus2 :)

Thanks, man. I am not going to let it get me down.

(I read your review of the 1Plus2. Not to derail this thread but it was well done and influential.)

Thanks! I only hope there aren't too many expectations!!

To keep it fairly on topic though. I was thinking of settling for the IE800 as well prior to plunging for the 1Plus2. Out of all the universals, I'd say the 1Plus2 is my first pick and the IE800 next. They share different sound signatures though, but because I haven't heard the IE800 in a while, I'd rather not get too specific on differences because I'd be talking more out of my backside than anything else smily_headphones1.gif

If you have no issue with the sparkle on the IE800 then you'll have no problems with the 1Plus2. That much I can say. But, when you do finally get a listen, let me know what you think!
