I live and breathe video game music. Seriously, most of the music I have is either video game tracks, or remixes.
Me too! But not remix only arranges and "remasters" or "re-orchestrations".
Instead of listening to a remix I will download the OST (beginning from the era of the SNES a lot of the good games had their own official OST released in fan clubs and Nintendo Power platinum members, those are now scattered all over the <v^ place ^v>), just found FLAC for Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and it's just great to have.

Those are GREAT SOUNDTRACKS, even though I only know two of them. But they would be among my all-time favorites also. Tetris Attack (no "s") and Metroid Prime (ONE, and only with superb music... the menu theme is visceral to me, it flows through all my body and my brain and influences my mood).
I like these two so much right after my post I'm going to Google and listen to Front Mission... I know Custom Robo the game, I think it's like Cyber Troopers Virtual-On by Sega (arcade and then later Dream Cast game, that I discovered in Sega Ages collection of Sega classics for PS2).
I'm not a fan of music after the 16 bit... I listen mostly to SNES and Genesis, and then NES and Game boy. Even the N64, still chip tunes, sounds too orchestral and Hollywood movie-like to me.

S.S.H is a self-taught keyboardist and then guitarist. He has been distributing his music on his website for free but he stopped doing that in january 2012, so you need to use torrents. He isn't has prolific and his best years are already behind. He has grown to become (with the help of his vast port-folio) a real video game music composer and producer, making metal music for Japanese shooting and fighting arcade games. Sega even had him do the whole soundtrack for their Gain Ground recollection of classics on the PS2 I told you about earlier. He also made a special edition arrange CD of the Atelier Iris RPG series on the PS2. And that's about it (all the tracks he made and released one by one on his website and the only CD, the original sound tracks, and the special arranges), I strongly encourage you to discover that stuff, it's really original, if you like metal and energic music.

Silent Hill Downpour is a departure from Akira Yamaoka's style. The music doesn't have the uniqueness nor the mysterious atmosphere of its predecessors. It reminded me of the music from The X-Files. What's Korn doing in that album ?!

I love SNES era music to, as well as some good ole Chip-Tunes, the GBA has nice music to, like a ChipTune-Snes Fusion [Megaman Battle Network 1-3 are my favorites]
I like some GC as well, it's like orchestral if it's done good,
Custom Robo is some good techno and
Metriod Prime is just a great ambient OST, so much so that Prime 2-3 used alot of tracks from prime xD, the track that plays while your in the under water ruins in the Over World is my favorite
SD3 has a great ost,
Oh the Ragnarok OST is a great mmorpg OST, SoundTeMP does great work! Such a wide variety of musical genres perfectly blended

Yuzo Koshiro NEVER disappoints. Ever. I'm tempted to just fill the thread full of Streets of Rage music and Magnus' theme from Kid Icarus: Uprising just to prove how awesome he is, but I'll stick to Etrian Odyssey music for this post.
EPIC. JUST...EPIC. Makes you want to gear up and venture out into the world, preferably one with ridiculously beautiful scenery.
Music like this almost makes me want to play through the series. Almost, because I know they're old-school dungeon crawler RPGs in the vein of early computer RPG series (especially Wizardry) that will mercilessly murder you and your entire party. Not sure if I could take the frustration.
Anyone remember the good old days of Epic MegaGames, before they started forsaking their original PC fanbase? Their shareware releases tended to have all sorts of awesome MOD/tracker music.
It's not a game, but Last Exile sure would make for a great game setting. I just love settings like that, where aircraft are the dominant means of transportation.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have Cloud Age Symphony (the opening tune) stuck in my head for the next week. At minimum.
