Actually I may be getting a review unit of another custom so if that last long enough then I can get the miracle, if my custom want is still not yet satisfied wink.gif

I have tried the UM miracle and it's a rather bright and cold IEM that doesn't have much bass. More of like an ER-4 or DBA-02 upgrade. But I will be going for the UERM/Fitears, since I feel 3-4 drivers is sufficient if it is already better than 6 drivers.

Yeh my DBAs have been my favourite earphones for a while and only now been over taken by ASG-1s so i can live with that sound sig! The other ones that caught my eye were the Merlin which look like a polar opposite with hybrid set up!

Im not going with it for the 6 drivers just i like the look of what it offers and it is cheaper than both you have listed :P But well see if I'm getting a review unit of a custom first as it may satisfy my needs ;)

The Merlin is actually a perfect upgrade over the IE8/80s. The bass rumbles and you will wonder if the IEM is really vibrating and it's pretty deep and has a wide soundstage. Bass is surely the strongest point on these, while the mids and highs aren't left out that much. I would have gone for the miracles if not for the distributor here stopped providing services.

Screw the code, but...  get a pair of Etys.  They're just so good in so many areas.  It'll be interesting to see how the UM3Xs compare.  Hopefully I manage to track down my lost ER4Ps T_T

However, you got to understand not everyone would like the totally clean bass of the ER-4. I do like it, however. I preferred the ER-4 to the UM3x, better highs, mids and lows. Only thing the UM3x was better to me was the instrumental separation. But it's better to follow your favorite sound than some stupid code.

True.  Ok, I'll amend that.  I think everyone owes it to themselves to at least audition them.

I'm really hoping I don't find myself disappointed with the UM3Xs, especially with what they cost over a second pair of Etys...

I would recommend you to just get another ER-4, but if you eventually like the UM3x more, then bonus to you. Even joker rated the ER-4 and UM3x to be the same, so costing more should not really justify the price... (but if you want a little more warmth, you probably will be happy)

Aah not a big fan of the IE8s which means the merlins might be more for me! However the reason i do not like the IE8s is the treble, how did you fond the treble off the merlins?

Swaying to miracles more and more!!!

The IE8s treble was bleh, the IE80s had a lot better treble. The Merlin is like an improved treble of the IE80s, not as good as the miracles, but probably smoother.

Im surprised that the IE80s are such an improvement to the IE8s wow! Okay thats sounding better, do they have a sparkle to them and does it prevent the sig from being dark?

Well, they certainly have more sparkle, but it's still very dark.

confused.gif Eh, what does that even mean?

Possibly that you didn't personally like them. Fair enough, but speak for yourself ... not everyone else.

I wish you'd occassionally qualify your posts with something along the lines of "In my opinion..." but you just make statements as if they are facts.
