Gundam Model-Fi (Gunpla) (Post Some Pictures!) - Page 23
Head-Fi's Best Sellers
its been a while since anyone's posted here but...
more gunpla builders or whatever the new thing was called stuff.... umm still not sure what to think about it really but in general, you can already tell that its not going to be one of the better series...
I like what I see in person so far, definitely way more solid feeling and detailed than the old kits I built back around the turn of the century. Some parts are going to need some epoxy treatment I feel. The leg connections in particular are really unstable, and some of the clasping arms within the elbows keep popping loose for me at least. The head antenna loves to pop off as well.
Will smooth the parts, paint it up, decal and weather it and take real nice pics using the DSLR-- eventually. Putting copper colored stickers over the elbow and back of knee joints just seems stupid when the parts are separate, so I'll make sure to paint those copper.

What I like best is no unwanted seam lines, all the parts are their own individual armor panels. Is that something they started doing more recently?
I might fille in the core block with something heavy. I still have never liked the overall light plasticy feeling of these things, they wobble too easily. Does anyone know if resin models are a good deal heavier?
I haven't posted in this thread since it's inception, but I am back and into Gunpla as much as ever. Since you last saw me, I only had a handful of kits. Now I have an arsenal and am going to pick up the Gundam 3.0 and Sinanju Ver.Ka tomorrow at Lost World of Wonders here in Milwaukee. I just recently got an airbrush and have been experimenting on some older kit I have, the HGUC Dom Tropen to be exact. I should have gotten and airbrush ages ago!
Anyways here's my current kits. Not that the 1/100 HG Deathscythe Hell is not mine but my brothers, and it's in rough shape.

Well I went to Lost World of WOnders and they put the wrong models aside for me! They put the Gundam 1.5 and Sinanju Stein aside. When I spoke to he manager on duty and told him those weren't the ones I asked for he got mad about it and apologized to me. Here I was gonna drop $200 on Gundam models and walked out only spending $60 (MG Zeta Plus C1 + HGUC Hyaku Shiki).
That mad me really mad as this place is nowhere near me at all. It took forever to get out there.
They did have some Evangelion stuff though, most figures of Asuka and Rei, some of the EVA's themselves.
Lost World of Wonders had at least 250 Gundam model kits on hand spanning 7 walls (not a full wall, but more of a 4 foot shelf/rack loaded with them). Their mark-up on them can be crazy. They wanted $150 for the RX-93 Nu Gundam Ver.Ka, which is like $40 more than what many places want. Their Mega Scale AGE-1 was $140, which is $60 more than Amazon. They had an excellent selection of kits, especially some resin Gundam mits I believe. Lots of anime and manga but no imported games :(
