I didn't here from him. He must be super busy with/from the move. The pads just showed up in my mailbox.

Ah alright, cool. That means chances are he shipped mine out as well before he left Canada.
I was scared there for a second.
Not sure, I have been waiting a couple of weeks and thought maybe you got a confirmation and I did not, I was jealous.
A couple weeks? Ouch.
I wonder if it's the international shipping service that's taking so long? I'm not too far from PA...
I have ordered with him before (Denon pads) and he has come through, I am just excited to try these on the HE-400 and my newly rediscovered DT880s.
That's just a silly lamp. My HE-400s match my commuter car.
Hey guys,
I have a question regarding these cans. Normally i use -4 Treble and 0 Bass on my Fiio E17, and the music and games are right about there.
However, on mass effect 2, i need to use 0 bass and 10 treble or some of the music / sounds simply are almost impossible to hear.
Is this the nature of a dark HP?
Ive been looking at this whole Dark/Warm/Bright thing, and i assume that if i want a HP that will give me same amount of everything that would be a neutral hp?
I like these Orthos due to how fast the sound is, but im kinda missing some of those bright sounds.
From the HE-500, HE5LE and HE-4, what would you say is the most neutral?
In Poland the HE-4 are about the same price as the HE-400, but both HE-500 and HE-5LE cost about 70% more (and id still have to add an amp).

You don't HAVE to, it'd just be nice if you do. At least that's the case with HE500, I think HE5LE is several times less efficient than HE500 so that will definitely need a powerful amp.
Id have to in terms id want to get the best quality out of those HP.
You will need pretty hefty amps with the HE-5LE and the HE-4. The HE-500 and the HE-400 not so much.
i know theres some interest with the magni/modi stack and the he-400 expressed in this thread
here's what i know so far
1: volume knob is perfectly straight
2: amp is black background, even at full gain with no signal no hiss. This might be a feature; mute without signal. idk
3: the dac installs and shows in audio devices without software, bit depth and sample rate is in the sound/speaker properties/advanced tab
4; some motherboards power the usb ports even when the computer is off, one possibility to change that is a bios setting another may be a jumper. unplugging is also an option.
5: gain with the he-400 is nine on a clock, no imbalance. imbalance is found just near the 6 6:30 area, you wont use that area anyway it's too quiet. 9 is a comfortable volume level
6: from memory* the stack sounds like the burson ha-160d i heard with the he-400 a week ago saturday
7: i'll be testing the stack with some some hard to drive phones in a few days
8: if you are coming to the stack from onboard or even a pci card you'll be REALLY happy...i have an auzentech...it's no slouch
here's hoping theres no spelling corrections needed. i do like a nice lamp though. ![]()
auto correct with swiftkey3 is a pita as i usually post from the android when a quick reply seems essential
My Galaxy SIII and it's case are a pretty close match...I do love deep shades of blue!

I've got a Titanium HD > Magni right now, and I'm pretty pleased. Naturally, I'm curious how the Modi compares (differences in synergy, etc.) so I may one day pick one up to try it.
