I'm planning to superglue a stocking over the plastic rings that clip onto the HE-400s.
I'm getting a tad worried though, I sent Jeremy my $50 three days ago and haven't heard from him since, I don't think he even has my address yet.

The HE-500 are listed at 502 g but I weighed mine and it was more like 539 g.
I found that although all of them are heavy the LCD2 had the worst balance of them all in terms of weight distribution. Also surprisingly or I could be crazy but the HE6 doesn't feel like it is heavier than the HE500 or at least to me it doesnt.
Wikiphonia says the LCD-2 weighs 550g, and Justin from Headamp reported that he weighed in the HE-500 at 548g and the HE-6 at 552g.
Well there you go. That's obviously why the LCD seems so much heavier than the HE-500. ![]()
The perceived weight depends on how well the headband distributes the downward force of the headphones, so if the headband design lacks ergonomics, the headphones WILL feel heavier.
You just have some guy like me working on getting some proper acoustic fabric / protector, so it can be shipped out with the leather BeyerDynamic pads.
And, therein lies the problem. MLE really loves the AKG Anniversary Edition headphones that he has, but the thread on them isn't anywhere near the family atmosphere like we have here with the HifiMAN HE-400s.
Don't turn your back on it, or we'll have to take you for a ride.
^^ This...good group of guys here.
