Yes, but this is the thread that Matt started - and, therein lies the difference.    

This thread initially just started off as a review thread by Matt.  However, since all of us are ADD, we all decided it would be best to also post questions and experiences about the HE-400 in here as well.

Oh my god, why was it renamed to appreciation thread, why?  I can't stand by the he-400 community any more, I prided myself on having on he-400 having no appreciation thread :(

Yes, sadly the name was changed as you've reflected.  Up until this point, I've had a lot of respect for Matt.  I've valued his opinions and even his music tastes, as a lot of it overlapped with what I've liked.  Yet, to just rename this to an HE-400 appreciation thread?  The nerve ....      

Seriously!  I will never read another one of his reviews or impressions ever again!  They just reek of too much.. appreciation. 

Man, having the HE400 and HE500 side-by-side, I can't help but appreciate () just how much of a huge difference the 60g is. HE400s feel extremely light while HE500s feel like a bag of bricks.

It's funny how this weight difference is paralleled in the difference in sound signatures; HE500s sound much weightier than HE400s. It's like the difference between a skinny european model bodybuilder, and a woman from sistine chapel paintings.

So I decided to try out my old Senn HD280 pro phones for craps and giggles, now im far more appreciative of these HE400s 

Needless to say, the HE400s destroyed them, and I'm never putting those 280s on my head again.
